anyone know of any stories based on lucid dreams, or if you have ever had any inspiration to write one from a ld? Seems like it would be cool to have a plot for a story in your head every night, and be able to control it.

Yes, actually. My dreams have gotten increasingly epic since joining DV. I think it is possible to do that. Wouldn't that be an awesome way to write a book? Dream a new chapter every night?
One of my early goals, which has gotten lost somewhere along the line, was to visit scenes/areas from my video game scripts/movie scripts/and book writings. I have tons of "in progress" works, lol. Never seem to be able to finish anything. I might have to pick back up on these goals in the near future.
[Edit] I have had LDs and kind of played along with the dream plot and had a very enjoyable experience. I then decided to pick up where I left off in a different lucid. So, it was sort of like continuing/building a story.
Not from lucid dreams, but I've gotten ideas for several of my books from regular dreams. It's one of the reasons that I started looking into dream incubation and control (which led me to LDing). I figured it would be really helpful to be able to dream specifically about something I was working on and just let me imagination go crazy.
I've always had "epic" sort of dreams for some reason. I've always said I have action-adventure type dreams -- they are more often than not like movie plots.
I'm sure it's possible to get inspired by lucid dreams, and I'm sure many stories were directly or indirectly inspired by dreams, be them lucids or nonlucids, though any dream will usually only have a huge emotional impact on the dreamer who dreamt it, to others they will usually seem 'cool', but they are impossible to fully convey since the actual impact is emotional- dreams can make us feel emotions much more fully than we could when awake.
Don't get me wrong, some dreams, if done with correct CGI would look spectacular, however it would have to be like a compilation of different dreams that have the most appeal. But yeah, dreams can definitely inspire, but only when combined with wakeful creativity can something truly spectacular be achieved.
OMG! One of my friends is writing a book, just for fun, and she often dreams about the book at night. Where, her characters are in it, and she somehow becomes part of the action. She gets some ideas from these dreams!
