According to what I've heard, sleepwalking does not happen during REM sleep. It happens during one of the deeper sleep patterns, theta or delta, I can't remember which. That's why people rarely have to worry about actually doing what they dream about.
As one who has acted out dreams while sleepwalking, I can attest that at least some sleepwalking occurs during REM. I don't know about LDing while sleepwalking, though. If it's possible to dream normally while sleepwalking, I don't see why you couldn't become lucid. If you do become lucid, would you also be more likely to realize that your physical body is up walking around? I certainly wouldn't want to try flying out a window in a LD while sleepwalking...
I've often wondered about this myself. I read in the book The Holographic Universe that there was a woman who had 11 or so multiple personalities and she could conciously change from one to another, and so while one personality was asleep another would be in control of the body and do what it needed to do. She supposedly never slept (at least what we call normal sleep). I think if someone could pull off lucid sleepwalking something similar to this could be accomplished, sleeping while still doing the things that your waking mind would like to get done.
But it's just a theory...
