When I was in college (recently as in I graduated in 08) I smoked marijuana on a regular basis. I wasn't a pot head, but every weekend, I would always have some kind of social where it came out. The we had was powerful. One or two hits and you'd already be feeling the warm. Three to four and you would become stoned, and anything beyond that was always the highest I've ever been every single time I smoked it.
There have been times where I just was not able to move because I was just so... gone. Initially I freaked out the first time this happened, but once I got used it, I really began to embrace it for what it was, and below is why.
My friends would assume that I was on the verge of passing out, or has passed out from smoking too much. I could understand why they would have thought that. If I closed my eyes I could almost become completely disconnected from the world around me. I would go into this dark void, so highly buzzed from the THC that I could no longer feel myself. While I could still hear what was going around me, it seemed so much more distant than usual.
After these experiences, when I smoked on my own, I always smoked enough to return to that most high I've ever been in my life state. I would lay down, and fall back into my dark highly buzzed void, and I would let my imagination go. I would have memories come up out of my subconscious which I would have never recalled otherwise, which I found amazing. For example, one particular memory surfaced from when I was about 11 years old, standing in my backyard with a summer rainstorm about to move in. It seemed like I was able to recall everything perfectly. I could smell freshly cut lawn and pre-rain storm scent (I don't know how else to describe it). SMELL??? I have great difficulty with that scent in lucid dreams, but it was perfect in this experience. I could also remember the warm air blowing against me as the wind was picking up for in the incoming storm. My sense of touch was there too! I did this a few times on my own, each time my imagination being so vivid, almost like I was there, but at the same time...
I wouldn't say these experiences resemble the typical lucid dream experience. These experiences were a bit different. They are like having extremely vivid, and extremely clear HI that can involve all of your senses. When you hear MJ intensifies everything, think you normal HI much more intense, but yet much more clear at the same time. For me, it was "recalling a subconscious memory almost perfectly".
Is this what some type of meditation is like, or this just another effect of the plant?
