I'll put 2, because sometimes I'm not sure if one part of a dream to another is the same one or a different one.
A matter of opinion maybe?
To everyone who doesn't know, it was my suggestion for Mario to start a poll on topic thread.
I put 3 but It's hard to tell when one dream starts and another ends :S

I can recall up to four dreams a night after drinking a cup of apple juice. It seems to have a huge effect on me.
Usually it's only two or three though.
there were days where I recalled like 6-8 dreams these days I usually recall 2 or 3, but they are usually quite vivid and I consider my dream recall stable and good

Depends. 2-6, usually 3-4 (the number is usually higher, but it's gone down to this the past week I've housed the dog). Lately I've been woken early and have forgot my previous dreams, but in the next sleep I dream a few different scenarios to make up for it. I had dreamt four different landscapes and situations earlier, but IDK if I should count it as 4 or 1 because it had a few of the same characters in it.
Since I've been woken at night my dreams have become remarkably less vivid :( I still recall a lot compared to the normal person, but not for me. Good thing the cat's settled and the dog can move back into the main house :boogie: More dreams for me, I'll miss her company tho.
Depends, 3-5 in school days, when sleeping in up to 8 or 9, when not in school around 6.

Usually 3-4, but lately I havent been able to remember my dreams too well :( I've been keeping a dream journal on my computer, but I think I need to get a pad and pen for when I wake up in the middle of the night and I am fresh off a dream.
My recall has improved alot over the last few days. I started off around 2 dream a night, then suddenly one night i remembered 6 dreams, and tonight i remembered 4.
It varies a lot due to school.
I can go for wks/mos and not remember anything. I get long dry spells. Then all of a sudden, like this last week, I've had 7-10! I get recall spurts, but I usually don't remember them much
I've been experimenting with cranberry juice, or beans, or milk. The last 2 recall session have been with milk and cranberry juice, but I'm out of CJ, so will see how milk does, lol
I'm trying to up recal with mantras :)
Mantras worked wonders for me. :)
Do you keep a dream journal? I find this helps a lot, too.
I've also heard of apple juice doing some pretty amazing things, but I've never tried it.

4 a night on average. if i get a lot of sleep it could be as many as 8
I can remember about two per night. One is always a lot more vivid than the other though.
I'd have to say it varies... 1-5, but when I have more dreams they're usually shorter unless I got a lot of sleep that night.
Would any of you consider scene changes separate dreams? Sometimes I'll have many scene changes in one "dream period," and even though they're completely new scenes/situations, I'm not sure I would label them as separate dreams. Any thoughts?
I think most people don't count scene changes as separate dreams.
It varies a lot for me. Sometimes, I can wake up and remember a handful of dreams. Other times though, I can remember nothing, or very little of a dream. Usually those little things lead to other little things, which lead to some meduim sized things, but not all the time.
Edit: No, I wouldn't call a scene change a new dream. I have lots of different scene changes in my dreams, yet they all follow the same topic, or title to the dream.
I voted 1, but I was reading back through my dream journal this morning, and I had a few entries in there with 2-3 different dreams. I'm probably just on a dry spell right now.
I normally remember something like 5-8 dreams a night...but I only write down the lucids, because I'm lazy. The first 2-4 dreams are almost never worth remembering. They are disjointed memories from the previous day, or dreams of me watching TV or surfing the web or at work. They're also much shorter.
The ones after that tnd to be longer and more vivid. The nonlucids which are interesting I will write down, and the rest are usually lucid dreams, so I always record them. :)
For a while it's been out of whack but around 2 a night at the least if I tell myself to rememeber.
