Oh ok. A DILD is when you're dreaming and something out of the ordinary makes you lucid, or in my case, the 3 or so I've had yrs ago, I just became lucid. I'd wake up within 10seconds though
A MILD is when you're doing RC's throughout the day. At some point in your dreams you may do an RC and it will fail and then you'll becom lucid
DILD= Just become lucid
MILD= You do an RC and become lucid
So yes, similar, but different in how you become lucid
Also, MILD is more about remembering to do something in the near future.
It is like telling yourself that you will buy milk next time your in the shop, and you commit that thought to memory. Then when you arrive at the shop you instantly remember to buy some milk.
You have to apply the same thing to dreaming =]

~DILD~
Is Becoming Lucid Out Of Nowhere..(Ex.A Purple Donkey?Wait A Minute, I'm Dreaming!)
~MILD~
Is Basically Doing Techniques Through Out The Day,In Hopes That They'll Carry Into Your Dreams So You'll Become Lucid..P.S. - Often MILD Is Mainly Just Practicing ADA(All Day Awareness) Throughout The Day..It Has Been Reported On Several Cases That ADA Has Improved Vividness,Clearity,And Lucidity Levels Drastically In A Dream .. Hope This Helped Your Understanding..Happy LUCID Dreaming!:shadewink:
DILD Is A Type Of Lucid Dream.
MILD is a method for inducing lucid dreams.
Can't believe the misconceptions are so great, anyway:
A DILD = Dream Induced/Initiated Lucid Dream, or in other words, any dream in which you become lucid during the dream.
MILD = Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream, a MILD is a sub-form of a DILD, as you become lucid during the dream. RCs and the rest have no bearing in any of the two meanings.
A WILD = Waking Initiated Lucid Dream, or any dream in which you arrive already lucid.
DEILD = Dream-Exit Initiated Lucid Dream, which is a sub-form of WILD, becase you arrive already lucid to the dream.
So in short, a MILD does NOT require reality checks or dream signs, however they can be used to enhance chances of becoming lucid. That and MILD is nothing more than a part of DILD.
Just realized this... the thread was necroed, just to make the same error as in 2009 <.<
