      Fearing dream characters

I myself wasnt sure whether to put this in General discussion or in Lucid experience, or somewhere else so I just stuck here. If its off-topic, then i'll move it

Anyway have any of you ever feared the characters in your dream? I dont mean monsters and golbins. No, i mean normal people walking by you. Lately I've noticed my....caution towards them. Recently I've been telling my Dream characters that they are not real and/or that this is a dream. What usually ensues is physical violence and denial. They either attack me, get mad or panic. Just today i felt a connection with a DC(which rarely happens) and decided to tell her that this shes not real. I immediately stopped myself, knowing full well what would happen if i told her that way. Does anybody get the same reaction from their DC's when they tell them they are not real?

So anyone experiencing something similar or have comments about it?

BTW, im not asking for advice to fix this so please dont

I've never told a DC that they're dreaming, because I fear that I'll lose control if there's another 'conscious' being in my dream. Even if they are literally a figment of my imagination. Because of this I've always kind of mistrusted DC's...at least while I'm a normal person in the dream. Somehow, when I take the form of someone or something more powerful than myself (like a tank driver) they no longer pose a threat, even though they should. I'm considering asking another DC to pilot a tank while I am, just to see if when I become someone or something besides myself I become invicible in the dream. Just for kicks and giggles. And the widespread chaos that I could cause with an epic tank battle...

Anyway, on a side note, I wonder if there are any psychological implications in fearing characters you know you created subconsciously....

dream characters; one of my favorite topics! With my style of lucidity, i can get into great lengths of examination with dream characters.
I am in no way afraid of them, and do think it may be a psycological problem.
basically, i am agreeing with most previous statements.
Why is it that when i am holding all of the cards, everyone else decided to play chess?

      1. o up to the dream character that is trying to kill you.

      2. Tell him "I am your lord and master. You do not exist without me. For you are the mere construction of my mind, and therefore you can only exist if I am present. If you kill me, then you kill yourself, because without me, there is nothing and there is now within this dream world. SO LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!!!!!"

      3. Then say, "So you wana be my friend now? "

      4. If they don't then just blast em away. Or put them in jail. Or find out if they are someone in real life and let them wake the hell up.

Ya know what, I think maybe some dc are real people. So thats why they get pissed when you tell em dat and scared. And maybe, if you kill people in your dreams all the time, you are giving real people nightmares. AHAHAHHAAAA!!!!!! Peace on earth and peace in dreams. WE GOTO SOLVE THIS!!!!!!!!

I swear my brain is some fucken type of sponge. This was the last topic I read before I went to sleep.

I go to sleep have a nightmare which I have not had it so long I can not even remember how long. This triggers a false awakening in which I realize I’m lucid and I walk out the door to find some dream characters. They are mean and antagonizing me trying to pick a fight. I tell them it is a dream and they get more angry and aggressive so I punch one in the head, then think WTF I don't want to do that and I do backward flick flacks away from them. (I used to be a gymnast when I was younger so doing lucid gymnastics is my latest fun thing to do)

Anyway then I have another false awakening I walk outside again to try and fly as my skills in flying have suxed ever since I had a break from lucid dreaming. So I’m trying to fly but only having some wack retarded style I can’t get much height or speed. This girl comes up to me and just starts being full on and I can't even fly away. I just wake up.

All my dream characters have been sweet to me. When I first started to lucid dream they use to warn me off it a bit as "I was not meant to do it", then I started to yarn with them about it and they were usually receptive and fun to hang with. Only about three times have they really freaked me, usually not enough to care apart from the one that made me want to have a break from lucid dreaming. She was one specific dream character that actually did scare the shit out of me, not because she was mean or violent tho. I wrote this about it in another thread. - The third was the most bizarre and so scary. Without going into too much detail it was an absolutely full on situation. I had the most intense instincts to get out of the situation I was in. Upon trying to leave a person in the dream realm spoke to me telepathically manipulating me to return and sit with her, she knew just what to say to get me back, i felt like easy prey. It was the first time a person in my dreams knew i was lucid with out me telling them. I don’t really want to go into details but it was so full on and it felt nothing like a normal lucid dream. For example in lucid dreams normally I can not read at all let alone recall anything. In this dream she gave me information in written format which not only I was I able to read but I could recall it upon waking. She also let me go when she saw how upset I was getting but when the dream faded to black her arm reached back towards me and she pulled me back in to the dream and told me something really full on. This time she had a flame in her eye. – I have not seen her ever again.

Needless to say I woke up at 5am feeling slightly weird, I do not like nightmares and now to have dream characters being assholes……..

      Peace Sensi.
