Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming

I was considering Purchasing "Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming" or "Lucid Dreaming" both by Stephen Laberge, who I consider to be possibly the most reliable source for Lucid Dreaming information.

I know that there are alot of quotes and sections from the book around the site but I was interested in possibly reading the entire book(s).

I was hoping for a recommendation from those who have read either, or both and which they prefer. And ultimately is it worth buying? I am planning on making the purchase either later tonight or tomorrow. I'd like some reading for the plane rides I'll be having for vacation next week.

I've read both, and I can definitely recommend you buy Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming.

Lucid Dreaming is a brief introduction to the subject best meant for someone who hasn't heard of lucid dreaming, or knows very little about it. It's a good book, but for someone who's taken a look through this site, it doesn't have much to offer.

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, on the other hand, is one you should definitely get. It covers just about everything from Lucid Dreaming, along with much more. The techniques and ideas it covers are fundamentally the same as the ones found here, but EWLD goes much further in explaining how they work, and how all the concepts fit together. It also covers some interesting angles that tend to be overlooked entirely, like the link between qualia and dreaming. Besides being very practical, it also contains quite a bit of interesting history, research and anecdotes about lucid dreaming. The book really deserves every bit of the popularity it has in lucid dreaming communities.

This book seems hard to get ahold of. Probably because lucid dreaming sounds like BS to a random a book browser, so they aren't going to stock it everywhere.

I happen to buy this book right after finding out about Lucid Dreaming, which was last year, well a little over a year, I bought mine at I think it was either a Barns n Noble, or the other one...they have a small dream section, so look carefully

That's no different from any other book that's not commercialized.
Many people know Lucid Dreaming is not BS and the book is stocked in larger scale book stores like Barnes and Nobel as opposed to a store like Target.


I also recommend Exploring the World of Luxid Dreaming. It's a book you will be able to return to like a handbook after reading and it has a lot of good info that Isnt necessarily talked about so much on forums. :D

Thanks very much everyone. Without the feedback I probably would have bought both. I am planning on going out today to purchase a copy of "Exploring The World Of lucid Dreaming" which I reserved at a local Borders. It will be nice to have something interesting and informative to read on my trip today.

Also with this nice vacation, this gives me a whole week to hone my WILD and WBTB skills :D

I will also submit a review on the book once I'm finished, but at $7.50 you can't really go wrong. :P

ETWOLD is great. I could definitely recommend it to anyone interested in lucid dreaming.

Then there's ETWOLD. 1991.

Then there's LD, 2004/2006, 85 pages, includes Free CD.

Stuff it, I am gonna buy both ETWOLD and the later LD and judge for myself. :banana:
