I'm curious, what kind of people become lucid dreamers?
open minded people.
The coolest of the cool, obviously. ;)
Seriously, I don't know ... it seems as though we have a good mix around here. There are some very intellectual types, but others aren't. We seem to have people of all different world views. If I were to guess. I would say that perhaps the common denominator is imaginative or contemplative type people, who see value in the internal life we all have.
Oh, all sorts of people. Some look to lucid dreaming for spiritual reasons, some people want to have some fun, and still others enjoy the prospect of blowing off a little steam through excessive violence. ;) Some look to it as a means of achieving the impossible but desired, too. Pretty much, anyone with a reason to lucid dream and the motivation to get there can become a lucid dreamer.
The creative, and somewhat restrained in real-life people (that's just my opinion - it's also an example of me! =P) that want to have some adventure and fun. Or, you could do it for relaxation methods.
I'm INTJ, too. I always am on those tests! I just took it again for fun, though and yep -- same thing. :)

yep well i definitely fall under the category of eccentric
Correct me if I'm over-analyzing. but I feel those who come to dreamviews and explore the psosibilities of lucid dreaming (myself included) may be the "eccentric" ones as was mentioned earlier. Maybe the ones a bit pushed to the back, the unnoticed, perhaps the unpopular. Those who grow bored of a monotonous reality, and those who look for excitement and escape from life, although not to a depressive/suicidal extent, more towards the thirst for adventure escape from life mentality.
Ayup, that's me in a nutshell. :) I came mostly out of a thirst for adventure (and also to wreak havoc :mwahaha:).
This is me ^_^
Girl age 17
College student studying Art/Design and Interactive Media.
I am very creative, and would consider myself fairly intellectual.
I am an Atheist.
I love to daydream. And I am constantly wishing and dreaming and using my imagination. I write stories and wish they where real. I am constantly changing reality in my mind and imagining otherwise.
I enjoy reading very very much. I love mysterious fictional books. Such as Harry Potter, Twilight, LOTR ect... I read a lot of fantasy books to help my escape reality. I love my life, I have amazing friends, family, college, and I focus very much on my college and friends. But I am soo busy with so much work during the day... I like to escape it, and live in my imaginary world for a few hours! hehe ^_^
I've always been a dreamer. And when I found out about Lucid dreaming. It was absolutely amazing! I didn't realize such a thing existed!
I think the type of people who Lucid dream is such a variety. I think not so much open-minded people. But people who are creative and imaginative. And who love to dream. People who like try try out new things even? People who are curious! I think people with good imaginations and like to have fun would be interested in Lucid Dreaming!
The list could go on! It's just like asking ''what type of people like playing football?'' I'm sure there's lots and lots of different reasons. But I think when it comes down to it, we all just agree that its a lot of fun! ^_^
Just giving my opinion.
I'm both sociable and shy. I like to travel. I like adventure. I became a lucid dreamer mostly for the fun and fantasy of it.
