      Non-Lucid Dreams - Finally!

I had my first non-lucid dream about a week before christmas. I have been trying for non-lucidity for a few years and it is finally happening. It isn't consistent...yet. But I'm hopeful. I still have complete memories of the non-lucid dreams but they are taking place without my foreknowledge of the dream event.l

Maybe it's just a misunderstanding, but, are you trying to lose lucidity?
If that's the case, you have to tell me why
I'm struggling to gain it.. hehe
      hey

Yeah, I'm kinda beffudled too. Is it a joke? Or are you just mocking all of us that try try try try try try try try to gain lucidity on a regular basis...

If you're serious... I'd say do a lot of drugs. The more dangerous to your mental well being the better. After you degrade your mind to a level where it has difficulty telling between dreaming, hallucinations, and reality, and you start to think your dreaming while awake... non-lucidity in a dream state will be no problem.

      Hi Aneas!

Where have you been hiding lately?

Yes Aneas is kind of a unique individual, I don't know if his situation is a blessing or a curse. Sometimes it is just fun to let your subconsious do the driving while you sleep.

      Congrats man!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I'm very serious. Seeker understands exactly where I am coming from with my post. It is a blessing and a curse. I have been lucid dreaming since I was six and I am now 39. I never had to try to LD it just happened and keeps happening. After 33 years there is just nothing left for me to experience in an LD. When I sleep here I awake there (my ld world) with the same consciousness level that I have when I am awake. The difference is that in the LD realm I am god. But after so many years I miss the principle of uncertainty and surprise the a non-lucid dream can bring. I still retain complete memory of the dream when I awake and it is so refreshing! Like all things, LDing is best enjoyed in moderation, otherwise it becomes just the norm. I can only explain my experience in terms of taking a long journey and finally reaching your destination only to discover that you were at your destination from the very beginning. The experience of the journey was the key, not the destination. I hope this makes sense. I encourage all those who seek to LD to be vigilant and to persevere. It truly is a wonderful tool to discovering the self.

Well after seriously considering your problem, since I'm sure you don't want to take dangerous drugs , I can only think of a couple of possible solutions. I understand that you may have already tried these before but I'm going to suggest anyway.

Firstly, what if you tried to do your normal regular routine in the dream world. After you get into it a little you may completely forget that it is a dream. There is the possibility that something off the wall happening might retrigger your lucidity but even just a short non-lucid would be better than none.

Another thing I thought of is trying to make a completely blank dream. Just get rid of everything that impacts the senses, including smells tastes and sounds. When you have this blank slate I think it would leave it open for random things from your subconcious to just start "popping" up.

I also remember a post in the Philosophy section I think. It was a question "Can a god choose to be an ignorant serf?" You could attack this question first hand. If you decided to make yourself ignorant, could you?

If I think of any more ideas that may help I'll post them later. I'm sorry about your problem. I remember reading about people who were naturals throughout most of their lives that lost the ability to LD one day, and they were never able to regain it. So just be careful, you may not realize how dear it is to you until it is gone.

Couldn't you just ask a dream character to take away your lucidity for the rest of the dream? Thats what I do if I want random during an LD.

Hi! I know exactly what you feel1 I'm 17 and a natural LDer. I have the same feelings, well I still have the spontaneous dream at least 2ce a week, but the rest of the time it's lucid. Until this summer I didn't know that lucid dreams weren't normal dreams. I can only imagine how awesome it would be to LD for the first time and think how amazing it is to control your world around you. I mean, it doesn't get on my nerves, and I still like having my LD's, but it is just not awesome or special to me. I still have random dreams every now and then, so I'm not as bad as you are, but I'm about 15 years younger than you, so maybe someday it will be just as you situation is... well I just wanted to let you know your not alone. Ttyl. IM me and maybe we can talk about it more. My screen name on aim is barbizzle.

well to bad u cant just transfer ure natural lding abilitys, u no distribute it to like 1 person or 5 or something so they either are always lucid in a dream or have it ever so often, thatd be realy neat.

I remember reading some really old posts with you in them aneas, when I was browsing the posts at the beggining of the forum. Very interesting story you have. It's amazing for me to even think about that, but you have so much experience with lucid dreaming that it's starting to bore you. You have a very unique skill but I'm glad you finally let go of your conciousness in a dream. My goal is to have the same dream conciousness that I have in waking life, like you described. Just remember that the dream world is only limited by your imagination. But I guess 33 years of imagining has left you kind of dry lol. Good luck with your dreams.
