Why?
Ive been doing this for four nights in a row, I Get in bed at 9:30, not that tired but tired enough to go to sleep. I set my alarm on my phone for 3 hours which sets my time at around 12:30 or 1:00, When i wake up im not tired at ALL! i get up and try the FILD and it refuses to work, i cant do it. I dont go to sleep for like an hour after this and it is strongly discouraging me.
Im Trying the FILD, Please help me out. i want to LD Really bad.

You know it is weird that it sometimes happens this way. Have you ever noticed that being tired in mid day and laying down to take an hour or 2 nap--upon awakening you will be even more tired then when you first laid down? But if you had only taken a 45 min nap, you would feel refreshed...
In your case, I may suggest not even setting your alarm.. You say that you wake up to an alarm after 3 hours.. I would try for a night or two not setting an alarm to see how that will effect your sleep, and let yourself wake up naturally... You may see a difference...

Well, for the tired feeling, that's all about sleep cycles. (Same for naps.)
I would suggest trying something other than FILD in the middle of the night. Perhaps VILD would work better.
Check out the tutorials for something that fits you well. I suggest a WBTB, then MILD while going back to sleep. The MILD could be replaced or joined with a WILD, VILD, or FILD.

Also, don't forget that sleep cycles aren't exactly the same for everyone, so three hours might not be the best time period for you. Experiment with different times, and see what seems best. Eventually you should be able to find a time period where your alarm will wake you up just enough that you can remember the FILD technique, and not any more.
