      Death Threat by Dream Character

I've had this dream last night that was really spooky and I hope that you can help. I don't remember much of how the dream started, but at some point I realized that I was dreaming and, as I usually do when I'm lucid, I decided to explore the surroundings, although they were scary. There was a forest and it was quite gloomy and I could see some slimy stuff at the side of the road farther ahead. However, when I wanted to follow the road into the forest, there was this creepy man beside me, who said that he would kill me if I went any further, and that I would die for real. I knew I was dreaming, but I felt that it was true, that I would really die, not just die in my dream. I woke up then and it took awhile to calm down again.

My question is - should I take this seriously? Is there something bad that could happen in real life? I've been having lucids every now and then and usually I try to use them to explore and get to know myself better. Could this be a warning from my subconcious to stop? I've been having a lot of nightmares ever since I can remember, but this one is new. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Personally, I wouldn't bother getting worried about something a Dream Character said.

Then again, I don't read into what my dreams mean either.

I agree, don't worry about it. Relax. Most DCs, especially when you are lucid, are so weird and say dumb random things. Trust me, do not take what they say for the truth. Though sometimes it is fun to talk to them and listen to their gibberish!

And if you're like me, I don't like to be violent, do something about it, something different. Once a DC tried to shoot me, but I wanted to defend myself. Instead of bein all mean and killing him, I "shot" him with bubble gum coming from my hand. He was down and couldn't shoot me, yet he wasn't dead! I don't know what level you're at, but this really isn't that hard, just beleive and picture it happening, and it will.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

I, also, recommend not taking it too serious.
Maybe it's a reflection on your own concern - are you afraid of what you might find? It could be an insecure part of you trying to make up a good excuse from furthering your self-discovery.
Though I do second the 'DCs talk gibberish' comment. They say some of the weirdest things...

I understand your fear, I tried to imagine what I would have done and I definitely would have woken up afraid as well. I mean "what if?"! But no, your DCs can't really hurt you, either

I agree with everyone most of what dc's say is pritty stupid and random, they dont even know what there talking about unless your talking to your dream guide, who would likely tell you to ignore the Dc's as they are dumb and you are not.

Thank you for your answers, I'm relieved Now that I think about it, it is a bit odd to believe he could really hurt me. How strange that the threat felt so real before. I mean, it really bothered me. But, yes, I think you're right

You do have a point there. If it was really a part of me making up an excuse to go any further, I have to say it worked pretty well. I'll keep that in mind in case I meet the creepy guy again.

Instead of bein all mean and killing him, I "shot" him with bubble gum coming from my hand. He was down and couldn't shoot me, yet he wasn't dead!
This is such a neat idea! I'll have to try that next time I'm bothered by a DC. Sometimes dream control doesn't work well for me, especially when I'm scared, but a mean DC wrapped up in pink bubble gum makes me smile already
