Improving RL skills
hey
i was just wondering, has anyone ever like, practiced something in a LD and really got better at it in real life? i play the piano, and i just thought it'd be nice to utilize the 8 hours of otherwise "useless" time. I mean think about it, you sleep away 30 years of your life. it'd be nice if i could use that time for productive things, as well as for fun i guess. actually, mainly for fun. so anyways, any experiences?

Hello & welcome thebeagle56
I have not had much succes myself in my dreams but during the hynagogic state I have actually conducted some of my own music.
I use it more for art & creativity.
here are a couple topics that may help you.

I don't have any proof that this story is true but I'll spout it anyway, I just trust what my friend tells me. A friend of mine that plays basketball told me of a study done on college basketball students. Half of a team was told to practice their 3 point shot for a designated time each day and the other half was told to just think about their shot and practice it in their heads the same amount of time. This experiment was set up to find out if thought processes could effect muscle memory. He told me that the results for each group were identical, each had the same % increase in their baskets. If this is true, I'd assume the same could apply for lucid dreaming.

I would guess we would eventually end up with a lot of out of shape sharp shooters ;)
