dry spell after attempt to visit dream guide

up untill a while ago i was lucid dreaming about 2-3 times a month. then i decided i would find a dream guide. i had some success in summoning things but time ran out and i woke up. then i asked someone to take me to a dream guide in my last lucid dream. the dream guide was a mermaid like girl and i just saw her that was it. i guess i just got an extreme rush from it because my heart was beating when i got up. i have yet to talk to a dream guide

is this because i am attempting to make contact with my own subconcious and am afraid of it?

i dont know i'd just like to get back to ld'ing
