When your Lucid...is it in real time?

So I always wondered this.

I notice everytime I awaken from a dream...it's feels 100% in past tense. Obviously when I awaken and the dream is over...it's in the past duh. But what I'm trying to say is...Even when I'm in the dream, it's dosen't feel like I'm actually "living" it. That I'm actually there.

So my question is...when you become lucid (lets say fully lucid)...does it feel/become in real time? As real-time as you are now...when awake?

I just see alot of discussions where people talk about you must have good dream recall even after you get good at LDing because you won't remember the experiences you had while lucid. This just dosen't make sense to me as if it's in real-time..wouldn't you remember it..as its happening?

Basicly you have two questions:

1) Is it "realtime" - I understand what you are trying to say - and yes - it is realtimish as it can be, especially if the dream was properly stabilized. More, in some my WILD the transition was so smooth that it was like extending of waking events.

2) Do you need recall if it is "realtime" - yes, you need. Try to remember what you did in some day several years ago. Most people will have problems with it, although that day was "realtime" back than. For dreams memories may disappear even faster. For example, if dreamer WILDed, than WILDed another time etc, i.e. made chain of lucids he easily can forget what first LDs were about.

Holy shit, I'm actually replying in an on-topic section?
I actually quit attempting to get LDs back in the day because I didn't experience dreams in realtime either. Often I'd start to realize I was dreaming (thus by definition becoming lucid), but stuff still wouldn't "become" realtime. I'd still wake up and it'd all be past time, never having experienced anything in the now. I thought WILDing would fix that problem, but I never actually made a succesful WILD.

It's been 5 years since I learned about LDing (I had natural LDs when I was young, but again, not in realtime) and I haven't had a realtime lucid dream ever. I hope stuff will work out differently for you, otherwise you might end up staying on this forum, purely posting in the offtopic sections, trolling people and being disliked in general.

my good lucids are definitely in real time. i'm completely 'there.' but in a lower quality lucid this isn't so much the case.

if you don't attempt to be in the present moment in a dream of course you'll only be looking back at it, but you can also wake up from a lucid dream feeling like you have been just transported bodily back to your bed.
