What's so great about Lucid Dreaming?
When I get preoccupied with studying, I tend to forget hobbies altogether. So the title is exactly what I asked myself Thursday, after going 3 weeks without LDing. Then on Friday, I had an LD but as with every other LD I've ever had (6) it was hazy and I was disoriented for most of it. Then this morning happened. I woke up around 10am to use the restroom, and went back to sleep almost instantly. All of the sudden I'm in a FA, I recently rearranged my room so I recognized my bed in the old position. So I'm like, "I know I'm awake but I'll do a RC anyway." My fingers came out to 4. I then became lucid with this cinamatic whooshing sound and I was ecstatic.
I actually remembered all the tips this site has given me, I rubbed my palms together and everything became clear. I touched my clothing and anything I could get my hands on. I've never had a dream feel so real before. I went into another room and habitually flipped the light switch and it didn't work.
So I run outside and begin walking through my neighborhood and waving to random DC, then I think, "why the heck am I walking?". I then lift off the ground and begin to levitate high, in the past while dream flying I've had trouble, & I feel I'm about to spin out of control. Then I remember a thread telling me to take control, so I did. I abruptly landed, then with a running start took off flying. It was amazing, everything felt real, even the wind in my face. I will definitely be trying to LD more often.
Now I see what is so great about LDing. Beforehand I pondered the title question because I had never experienced a REAL lucid dream.
I guess I needed to give it time. Anyone with similar experiences?
