Well it's a theory, not my own, but one of particular merit I believe. I'll look for the thing that said that.
I think this was it
Edit: yeah, definitely it.
I don't think it is a seprate being i just think it is your inner self. As i have said before you cloud who you really are with fears, emotions, etc. If your subconscious can create a world and talk to you using it is it really so far fetched that it can talk to you through a DC if you look for it? I think you only have a DG if you want one so if you want to know your inner self enough your subconsious can talk to you through a DC so i guess i would say i vote for both 1 and 3 to. Do you guys get what I'm saying :paranoid:
It's like the Socratic method, in that we may use our subconscious for enlightenment; strengthening who we are in a newly shaped perspective that emulates our true self. Not to sound to mystical/spiritual, rather to put forth the argument that our moral voice/subconscious is generally muted, and if these dream characters are manifest subconscious (which is the general consensus), why not make the best of them? Rather than just ignoring the characters in our dream world, I have had some interesting conversations with people i just meet in the road. Some reflect completely different philosophy than i do, and that is when it gets rather interesting.
Of course flying, turning into animals, and doing the impossible is also enjoyable :D.
I'm not saying you are two. I'm saying your subconscious is you the you that you are unaware of. Your subconscous isn't two beings. Have you ever heard of doing something subconsciously like you think it was an accident but it was your subconscious. Your subconscious is just your unaware thinking and emotions. That is why you can only see what it tells you through dreams because your inner self creates the dreams. It is hard to understand.
Think of them as two contributing pieces to the same whole. The regular conscious mind deals with things such as active problem solving, alertness, and experiencing the senses. The sub-conscious has more to do with memory storage, expectations, assumptions, and everything else that occurs "beneath the surface." Without your subconscious, you would have to store everything in the active consciousness, and seeing how you don't know everything all at once (you usually have to call up certain memories or experiences, or remember a principle, etc), there is a subconscious state somewhat separate of the conscious one, but yet the two still work together.
oh, okay.
Well, I think my problem was that I was trying too think to hard and understand it more than perfectly. It all makes sense when you don't try to think too much. lol!.
Meta-thinking? :-?
metcognation is what I think he meant. Thinking about thinking.
Is it as simple as you said. Thinking about your thoughts? it doesn't mean any less or more?
I'm not sure what Mario92 meant to ask so I'll wait for him to reply.
he was just stating that you were think about your thinking. Sort of like in ETWOLD how it talks about being aware of awareness.
Yeah, thinking about thinking...that one. And if you think about how you think about thinking...your head implodes.
Shouldn't try to stop a good discussion but :offtopic:
I think mine already did... http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_o7h2KFjR11...-implosion.jpg
