      Dream related lyrics?

Does anyone know of any songs in real life that have dream related lyrics.

Theres one by Blondie called 'I'm always touched by your presence'

Several lines in the song go like this:

Stay awake at night and catch your REM'S, when your talking with your Superfriends.....

It then says something about floating.

Must find the lyrics to the song.
Lets all do something mental like steal a traffic cone.

Scissor Lock by the band Dredg is all about sleep paralysis.

"I too once thought the radio played, lets act like children as we sleep paralyzed..."

Actually their whole cd, El Cielo is about dreams. Check it out, its easily one of the best cds made, musically and lyrically.

There are a lot of songs I know that reference dreaming... I'll list a few as they come to me (not from best to worst or anything like that)
      1)Ocean Ave.--Yellow Card
      2)So far away-- Staind
3)Close Yet Far-- CKY (he doens't directly say it, but it sounds like he's describing a dream)
      4)I must be dreaming-- Evenescence
      5)Feelin This-- Blink 182

and those are just a couple on my playlist
      The end justifies the means.

Ehh... this answer may not be as trendy or current as all of yours, but is Queensryche's "Silent Lucidity" about dreaming? There's a part in the bridge where the narrator voice "if we presist in our efforts, we can achieve dream control". Other verses include:

--"doorway that I run through in the night"
--"a place where you will learn, to face your fears, retrace the years, ride the whim in your mind"
--"You're safe froom pain in the dream domain
A soul set free to fly
A round trip journey in your head
Master of illusion, can you realize
Your dream’s alive, you can be the guide but..."

Now that I look at it, this could be the mother of all dream songs - but that's just me.

The Jimmy Castor Bunch has a song from way back called "Hallucinations". i remember listening to it over and over again, but i was very young at the time. it was my favorite song on the album, also the last i think. to be honest i'm not sure if it was about dreaming or drug use. the album was called "Bertha Butt Boogie"

Not sure if you are still interested, but I just watched a video for a band called M83. The song is called dont save us from the flames......The first half is about a girl in waking life, and the rest appears to be about a dream. I have not studied the lyrics too well, though, but I assume if the video portrays a dream, I bet the lyrics relate to it.

I'm a big Trance head...and about 80% of the tracks (that have vocals) usually reference some aspect of dreaming.

Hehe...that song brings back memories of High school.

One of my favorite dream songs is also not current nor trendy. It's the song "Am I Dreaming" by "Atlantic Starr" and the pertinent lines are:

** Things are kind of hazy and my head is all cloudy inside. I've heard talk of angels but never thought I'd have one to call mine. **

** Am I dreaming.. am I just imagining you're here in my life? **

** Am I dreaming.. pinch me to see if it's real 'cuz my mind can't decide. **

** Will this last for one night or do I have you for a lifetime? Please say that it's forever and that it's not an illusion to my eye. **

** I hope that you don't up and disappear.. I pray that it's not a hoax and it's for real. **

** Sometimes I need you to show me that it's not a mirage. **

      ** TELL ME.. am I dreaming?? **

      Now that's a lucid love song!! :-)

Arcade Fire- Sleeping in the submarine, (I am pretty sure, I know its something from Us Kids Know) that goes "Between the click of the light / and the start of the dream."

Also, there's a Non-prophets lyric that goes along the lines of "Lucid dreams are alot like computer screens...". GG Sage Francis. GG indeed.

Inkubus Sukkubus - Midnight Queen (lyrics)

      Instrumental/Other:

      Therion - Enter Transcendental Sleep
Raphael J. - Sleep (by Kaye) (Not about dreaming, more like a lullaby kinda thing)
      The Dead Hours - Dreamer
The Dead Hours - The Psychonaut Sleeps Tonight

I Changed My Name by Sugarcult:

Sink deep into those magic dreams
While I blast off in my bed
And you know I played it all in here
Where everyone hides their darkest shades of fears
      [/quote]

Now that I look at it, this could be the mother of all dream songs[/b]
yeah, this song is all about Lucids as far as I'm aware. It's got instructions on how to do it, including keeping a dream journal to improve recall, awesome song.

Another favourite dream related song of mine is Prohpet's Song by Queen. For those who don't know, it's like Bohemian Rhapsody on a bad trip, and probably the most under-rated song of all time. Just as grand, arguably superior musically and 10 times as dark, it's from the same album A Night At The Opera.

      The second verse -

I dreamed I saw on a moonlit stair
Spreading his hand to the multitude there
A man who cried for a love gone stale
And ice cold hearts of charity bare
I watched as fear took the old man's gaze
Hopes of the young in troubled graves
'I see no day' I heard him say
So grey is the face of every mortal[/b]
The rest of the song is largely with 'the old man' as the narator, depicting the end of the world - fun eh?

Aside from the dream content, if you're into Bohemian Rhapsody, any form of prog or concept albums, or interested in production techniques* then check this song out.

*There's a really long vocal bit in the middle that has a brilliant production technique I've never heard used anywhere else - probably because 999 out of 1000 producers couldn't pull it off.

I hate to revive a dead thread, especially one several years old, but I feel a need to contribute to this thread. "Dream Express" by FLOW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPGssnM9p5w The lyrics are in Japanese, but they're all about dreams and also for some reason drinking too much. >_>
