Wanted To Share This Experience.

This post requires a tiny bit of pre-requisite information about myself which I will provide.

I will start off by saying my name is Derek and I am male, as well as being gay. I have no doubt a community so diverse and accepting as this one will not have trouble dealing with that.

Knowing that I just wanted to share my dream of last night.

I had just met a wonderful guy, who basically had it all without being overbearing. He was very cute, great features, beautiful hair. Essentially the boy-next-door type. In this dream I felt a long moment of extreme bliss, as me and him laid together on the floor just holding hands in silence.

My alarm went off and I awoke feeling, well, perfect. I felt the happiest I'd been in a long time. However, this faded rather rapidly into a small depression as I realized that the moment I experienced was only a dream. Through the rest of the day I was only tantalizingly able to remember just a small amount of the bliss I had felt during the night, knowing I might never feel that way again saddened me.

The point of this post was not a sexual feeling, not a romantic one, maybe just the setting or something, but I have never been so affected by a dream like this, I'm currently in a state of coasting right now, nothing seems to really affect me right now, detached you could say. So I came wondering what your ideas on this "Perfect" dream are, or perhaps what it truly meant on a deeper level.

Feel free to share, kind words only please.

so your trying to say were an accepting community that will find if hard to deal with your homosexuality, or was that a typo.

I've had same emotion experience, from what I can think of is dream emotions come with more power than normally when awake would. Had one dream where my mother knocked to my door as a ghost, and she said, she died because of my fault. I couldn't stop crying in dream, and after I woke up I felt empty.

If you learn how to lucid dream more often, you might be able to seek out that person again.

How great would it be to be able to create these emotions when you are awake through meditation or something.

After all its all in your head just ready to be unlocked.

I am definitely adding finding this guy again to my dream goals.

Well, Rose, you have to be happy that the first response was just verifying the open mindedness of the community eh? :)

I think any really great dream has the ability to "hang" on you for days at a time. Afterall, dreams are what form our goals, hopes for the future etc right? Maybe not in the same sense, but many great books, movies, songs, creations were directly influenced from actual dreams, so you can see their repercussions in art and culture across the board.

Congats one, and two, make sure you pay heed to your dreams. Maybe that dream was telling what you're actually looking for in a life mate, or just an ideal partner, so that when you actually run across him in the waking world, or run into his opposite, (bad match), you'll know what to do. ;)

That's not uncommon to have a glorious dream that drops you from the clouds into the streets of daily life. Then again, I've had nightmares--and the very possible ones are the scariest--that have perked my attention and focused me, and actually brought me some sense of joyful relief that my real life wasn't the dreamstate. Try to go with the flow. At least this dream has brought you wonder--I think that's the emotion you should focus on.

My meditation-esque advice is to be mindful of what you're feeling, whether high or low. And as others have suggested, maybe you could pursue this ideal man in lucid dreams? If he's worth the pursuit, talk to him, listen to what he says to you. I once had a lucid dream that dissolved a deep phobia overnight, because I had a good chat with someone in that dream. Pursue whatever causes wonder, whether it's intensely erotic, beautiful, or horrific.

But beware of becoming too detached from anything, especially the mundane. That'll be my Zen advice.

uhh, well it must have been a nice dream for you, but in my opinion, it's disgusting.

Confused, was this a LD? Anyway, good luck on gettng that dream to happen again, and remember, dreams can mirror desires, so you can always give it a shot in waking!
