was this lucid?
first off, I've already had my first dild. I didn't lose the dream because of excitement, I was WAY less excited than the first time.
The dream was really, really vaguely remembered. but here's what I got.
I had over 5 dreams last night, most of the time they somehow connect or chain together. but the lucidity I remember was:
I was explaining something to someone about 4 feet up (on a stage or stairs maybe) to my left. then I said "I am lucid" the dream started fogging out, and I knew I was losing it (i became lucid towards the end of the dream, correct me if I'm wrong but could it have been at the end of a REM cycle?)
i started spinning to gain control. then it was gone.
was that lucid?
it wasn't as clear as my other/first dild

Since you started spinning to gain control I would have to say yes you were lucid, but unfortunately you woke up shortly thereafter.

Firstly, it sounds like you were aware that you were dreaming, so yes, that's all it needs to qualify it being a lucid dream.
No two LD's are ever going to be the same experience :) There will be times where you'll have total control and can almost think as clearly as if you were awake.
There will also be times where you'll realize you're dreaming, but you have no control whatsoever.
There will be times where you'll think, "Hey, this is a dre-! Bugger, I woke up!"
Sometimes it'll last the whole dream.
