Im confused im 13 and for the past year I have experienced great control over my dreams. I can do anything, i can grow wings if i am falling, i can do more... but i have no idea if its lucid dreaming, because i dont know what that is! I hope someone can explain, and is this normal? Someone said it wasnt and that it was researched with pshcology. I hope im not alone!!
The definition of lucid dreaming is just this: knowing you're dreaming while you're dreaming. Dream control is a different issue, though often goes hand in hand with lucidity. So as soon as you think to yourself "Hey... this is a dream!" - then you're lucid.

Thats pretty much it. if you know you are dreaming then you are lucid. Most people as i understand view dreams like a movie. There are a couple intersting scenarios though:
you may have great control in dreams for example living your dream like you do real life, and making desicions etc but not know you are dreaming.
you might have control over thing that are impossible in life for example you growing wings while falling but somehow you still dont think you are dreaming - its a hard switch to switch sometimes.
On the other hand you might know you are dreaming but have very little control and just 'watch the movie' using lucidity only to wake yourself if things turn bad. Finally you might know you are dreaming and have full control over anything - this is the goal :)
That's a really good thing, in my opinion! A lot of people struggle immensely with dream control.
Are you aware that you are in a dream while you are dreaming?
If so, then it's lucid dreaming. Being able to have control over your dreams is a really amazing thing!
Your asking if lucid dreaming is normal on a forum populated by lucid dreamers? C'mon, its a no brainer. :)
Far as I know, Lucid dreaming is control over dreams and from what I understand, a starting point for astral projection.Quote:

it seems alot of people get confused.. dream control is not related or exclusive to lucid dreaming. just because you can control your dreams doesnt necessarily make you lucid.
