      Natural lders come here!

I've found four natural lucid dreamers at my school. There seems to be something in common with all of them. I just can't quite put my finger on it. Any ideas? One of the dreamers is extremely observant. He has lucid dreams every night. I think because he's so observant that he notices when he's dreaming. Another one is just strange. The third one is really smart. The fourth dreamer is a day-dreamer. Maybe natural lucid dreamers think differently than most people? For you naturals out there, what is different about you? Why do you think you're a natural?

Hmm...let's see. I'm a very creative person. I've been an artist since I could hold a crayon, and I'm also really smart.

I am a bit of a natural LDer (although my lucidity is usually quite low). I have a very curious nature and tend to analyse everything I come across, especially my state of consciousness. So as soon as I start slipping to a different brain state, I immeditately realise what's going on.

Recently as I was going to sleep I became aware that I was beginning to dream and that aspects of my mind were becoming characters in my dream... i.e. my frustration was a person in my dream , as was my hope. And they were conversing. And I was aware of this.

wow. I just asked a whole bunch of people at my school if they know when they're dreaming. About half of them said they do... creepy. All of them are around the age fourteen. I think younger people have lucid dreams easier and more of them are naturals. Why am I not a natural??????? I wonder if there is a way I could change the way I think that would improve my lucid dreams. I have a really good memory. I always use the MILD method so I guess I just remember I'm dreaming. It does make sense that I'm not a natural because a lot of times I tune everything out and go into my own little world. Then I have no idea what's going on around me. Several times in class I'll think: Oh crap! I haven't been paying attention for the last five min. and I have no clue what she's talking about.

I tend to agree with the theory that younger people may have an easier time of it. I had my first lucid when I was 9 or 10 -- had a handful more over the next 30+ years, until I found out what it actually was and found DV. So I guess I'm a natural, although it happened very rarely until I started trying to induce LDs on purpose.

I guess I've felt that I gained the ability because I always had a good realization of the difference between reality and fantasy from a young age, so there came a point in one of my dreams where my mind just refused to accept that it was real. Although I'm not sure that reasoning really holds up, because so many times I dream about really weird stuff and do not become lucid.

I think I started to realize I was dreaming when and just didn't want to accept what was happening, if that makes any sense. I was 7 or 8 when I first started LDing.

I think I'm a good artist and I'm pretty smart.

I definetly think that natural LDers are different mentally than everyone else. From what you guys pointed out and the only person I know who can LD all the time is very smart, free thinking, and open minded. Being aware of yourself and surroundings all the time will definetly carry over into dreams.

I was like Imachinchilla, going into my own world, spacing out or not paying attention or being aware of things. But now I do reality checks all the damn time and try to remain aware of myself and surroundings all day as much as possible and it carries over into dreams now.

I'm not natural but thought I'd 'come here' anyways.

      LD

I was born that way. I LD every dream. Always have (at least as long as I can remember!) I control my dreams. I recently started having OBE's and astral experiences.

I went to school for visual arts, but also have a very analytical mind. I do well with philosophy and logic. I like strategy games and logic puzzles. I make extra money as an artist and graphic designer (mostly digital retouching and tattoo flash, but the occasional portrait or calligraphy.)

Yeah, I'm starting to do that because I get really pissed at myself for just tuning everything out. Now whenever I'm about to go inot my own little world I look around, observe my surroundings, and do a reality check. I have to daydream though, that's not something I can give up easily.

Imachinchila, maybe when you're asking the poeple at your school if they realize they are dreaming they are misinterpreting you and thinking that you are asking them if they can distinguish between dreams and reality and don't quite understand completely what you mean by lucid dreaming. I've run into this while asking people if they lucid dream and often get at first the answer that they do it all the time, only to have them go, "OHHHHHHH! That's what you mean." as the conversation goes further.

Well, i'm a natural lucid. I am naturally intelligent as well, and have artistic talent. I'm very strange because i live a whole separate life in dreams, and i have a natural knack for using most forms of weaponry (although i refrain from exersising that)
I can scare almost anyone off when i want to. I'm what most would call antisocial (with the exception of when i'm on the computer of course.)
I'm a total night owl (i prefer sleeping from four am to one in the afternoon) and when i do open up to someonee , i'm very loyal.

need any more info, just ask.
Why is it that when i am holding all of the cards, everyone else decided to play chess?

I'm not sure you could say i'm a natural lucid dreamer, but I think I have a natural ability to WILD without much problem, this first 5 times I tried I was successful, from there on out I am probably successful 90% of the time when I try, if I follow all my steps and aren't to lazy. I am a very observant person and have a pretty high IQ I guess, its around 130, learning things comes very easily to me, and it seems to be the same with LDing. But any freakin idiot can Lucid dream, it just takes some dedication.
