A dream guide is usually considered to be something of a special Dream Character; it holds a fairly continuous form, has a good deal more power against you, and will offer wisdom possibly related to dreaming or just life in general. Some people consider it a spiritual entity from extraneous sources such as the spirit realm, while others consider it just one of the more useful manifestations of your subconscious that can be called into being.

A dream guide is usually a dream character that appears to assist the dreamer in overcoming certain obstacles, or a requested presence that can help explain the things you're experiencing. I only met mine 'face to face' once in my dreams; after that 'he' became a conscious extension of myself, always patiently observing and commenting when I struggle with something.
