Lucid Dreaming Documentery?

Hey, I was thinking about throwing together a lucid dreaming documentery. All I would need is for you guys to answers these questions in front of a camera. (This would be ment to introduce new people to lucid dreaming.)
Questions:
What is Lucid Dreaming?
Why should people have lucid dreams?
Why do you have lucid dreams?
Can you describe some lucid dreams you've had?
What are some steryotypes about lucid dreaming that annoy you? (drug use, satonic, ect.)
What are some problems preventing people from getting into lucid dreaming? (most likely going to invovle steryotypes)
What are dreams?
How can you lucid dream (DILD, WILD, ect?)
Any other thoughts?

What I need from you is video of you answering the questions, using the question in the answer. I will then splice that with screenshots of dreamviews and other LDing sites to make a documentery, to try to get people into LDing. The finished product would then uploaded to a dedicated dreamviews youtube account. This is just an idea, that I would like to take somewhere.
(Due to mac problems, this project will take a few months to edit and finish after I get the video from you. Sorry.)

How do you plan on going about it?

I'm assuming that you mean how am I going to make the documentery? Well, I was planning on getting "interviews" from you, in the forum of webcam videos. I'd then play theese interviews spliced together with screenshots of various lucid dreaming websites, for the purpose of increasing awareness of lucid dreaming, as well as dispelling stereotypes of lucid dreaming and lucid dreamers. This will hopefully increase traffic to dreamviews, thus increasing ad revenue, so we can hire more staff and get the dreamviews book project done, thus begining the money cycle again. This would also introduce more people to lucid dreaming, making the world a slightly better place. Or even a much better place!

(it would also give me something to do with the new mac I'm getting in a few days.)

Well, do you actually have the skills to pull this video together? If its just a slapped up iMovie project, I don't think you are going to attract much attention. Also, few people on DV opt to even use a profile photo. Filming themselves talking is beyond possibility.

Thanks for the imput! I actually have done a lot with video editing, and I was planning to take a lot of time editing to make it perfect. I think that this will drive more people to LDing, as the main reason people don't LD is the steyotypes about LD's (satonic, bad for you, ect.) and LDers. (druggies, shut-ins, escapism, ect.) This project will probobly take 2 monthes to edit, since I want to make it incredably good.

What is Lucid Dreaming?
For me it's when I fall asleep, dream normally, and then realise I am dreaming and take control of the dream. However, I am one of the more controversial people that believe something stranger is happening regarding Lucid Dreaming.

Why should people have lucid dreams?
The fact that you're in a world which looks and feels like the real world to a large extent, but where anything is possible is just a fantastic concept.

Why do you have lucid dreams?
I am a Natural lucid dreamer. I've always been able to lucid dream, and very rarely, if ever have a dream which isn't lucid to some degree.

Can you describe some lucid dreams you've had?
A couple of years ago I had a false awakening, where I was dreaming but thought I was awake. I was on holiday and quickly realised that the sky being green was a sign I was dreaming. So I ran across the apartment, through the balcony doors and leapt off the balcony. I fell 9 floors and landed perfectly. Then walked over to the resteraunt and had breakfast. I've also met a dream guide, who to all intents and purposes looks real, feels real, and seemingly had independent thoughts.

What are some steryotypes about lucid dreaming that annoy you? (drug use, satonic, ect.)
The one stereotype which annoys me about lucid dreaming above any other is that people think you're crazy when you tell them some of your experiences. The look I get when I tell some people that for a few seconds to minutes before I fall asleep I listen out for voices which sound like they are in the room annoys me, yet it's a known phenomenon.

The way I see it, a lot of people would like to lucid dream, but simply can't. And the idea of people doing things like waking up in the middle of the night and then going back to bed. It's not always possible.

I think dreams are a dump from our day to day experiences. I know my dreams are based on things I've done during the day.

I am a natural lucid dreamer. I have no idea how I lucid dream, it just happens. However, sometimes I need to take something like 5HTP or drink a mint hot chocolate to either induce a lucid or enhance them.

Any other thoughts?
I think that this idea for a lucid dream documentary is a really good idea. The problem with films are people can think the subject matter if fictional. A factual lucid dream documentary with lucid dreamers is a great idea.

I am going to need a video. For now, just upload it to youtube. I'll tell you where to put the file when I am ready to splice the documentery together, probobly when I have 6 or 7 videos.

2. Would you like us to just upload them to YouTube, where you can use something to download them, or would you like them linked to you directly from some hosting site?
3. Would you like any audio recordings, just to overlay images over? Are you going to use the actual video along with the audio that we send, and have images over some parts, or will it all be audio with images of sites and pictures, but making no use of the video portion of the files?

Because I'm not seeing anything that says what videos people are working on, and I want to get started on my videos, here are the questions I will make contributions toward:

I'll have both. Just record in video, I'll extract the audio if I need to.

As long as it doesn't make you look like a klu klux klan member or something else offensive. this mask generally means "I'm anonymous, but I don't want to force you into buying one. Any paper/plastic mask would work.

I wouldn't mind helping you and make a few videos of myself talking, though I've only ever experienced about 4 real lucid dreams before, I am still in a learning process. I ctalk about how I became interested in Lucid dreaming, why i think people should do it, how to go about learning, ect. ?

I'm taking A-levels in Intereactive and Multi-Media, graphics, directing, editing ect. Cinema 4D can create some AMAZING effects. I've seen a lot of the University students i know creating some absolutely un real creations with it. Perhaps some peoples lucid dream and idea's for lucid dreams could be brought to life using these amazing programs to attract people into lucid dreaming and make it look so much more realistic.

That would be awesome. Please. I'll get the dream segments for you to animate when I have all the other material.

What is Lucid Dreaming?
Lucid Dreaming, to me, is the conscious realization that one is dreaming, while dreaming. Not afterwards, in the morning; while in the act of dreaming.

Why should people have lucid dreams?
Lucid Dreams have several uses, as well as a bit of escape from the toils of reality. Often times, people talk about a 'Dream Guide' or a character that often appears in a dream and has more insight into the dreamer than any other character. These DG's seem to have some link into the subconscious mind, and can access memories long lost, interpret activities, or help in making big decisions. Lucid Dreams also have uses like neutralizing phobias, ending nightmares, trying something new without risk of injury, or just plain fun.

Why do you have lucid dreams?
I have them to try new experiences, have some time to myself, or do the impossible.

Can you describe some lucid dreams you've had?
I haven't had many, but I can still remember my first from a year and a half ago: After trying for, I don't know how long, I suddenly looked upon a black and white room from a corner, with some furniture in it. I knew that I could interact with it for the scant seconds I had control, but the shock of having such a real-looking vision was too much, and I lost it. A few others involved ancient cities, amusement parks, or just randomness.

I absolutely hate it when people refuse to believe it is real. I have found scientist after scientist who find that Lucid Dreams are absolutely real. The texts go back to before the middle ages. Mary Wolenstonecraft Shelly, Frankenstein, told that she had the idea from a "waking dream". The evidence is right there, but traditions and closed-mindedness has shut many away from fantastic experiences that anyone can have, with the time that is wasted knocked out.

The fact that people tend to stick to traditions. Most people are lucky if they remember one dream for more than 5 minutes a month. Recall is never practiced, and so when the advent of hyper-real adventure that can be remembered for a LONG time rolls around, when the most one has recalled is cloudy and forgotten easily, there is a lot of doubt. One of the main problems I see is the Dark Age notion that dreams are evil and should be shunned is still around somewhat. What I have seen is far less radical, yet the doubt is prevalent. When presented with the facts, almost everyone that I try to get started into Lucid Dreams is lost, or seems completely uninterested. Sometimes I can see the thought of me being insane flash across their face. It is supremely irksome.

What are dreams?
Dreams are all part of the mind. The brain craves stimulation from the senses, but each night, the senses are cut off. This is Sleep Paralysis, and everyone has this each and every night as a safety measure. (Running off of a cliff for real because a monster is chasing someone in their dream is one reason.) Having no stimulation, the brain makes up its own. Using memories from the past, mostly from the previous day, the brain makes a dream to keep itself occupied. The memories, more often than not, are then erased to make room for more important information. That is why most people never remember them; their brains never try to hold on to dreams because they are never wanted or needed consciously.

I stick to WILD's, because I hardly ever realize there is a dream going on otherwise.

Any who read this, please give LD's a chance. The proof of its existence is shown time and time again. There is no occult practices involved, drugs, insanity, or whatever. LD's are merely a realization of what you do every single night while doing it. The use is up to you, and there is nobody to stop you, because only you really know what they are about. The gains are plenty, and the sacrifices are virtually nil. It sounds too good to be true, but it is true. The first time you try it might not work, but the prospect is there for the taking. Lifetimes (plural) of experiences are available using the time you would normally be doing absolutely nothing at all.

Well I filmed the questions, but I'm thinking about redoing it before uploading so they're more short and sweet. I had single questions edging on 10 minutes, and mostly because of pauses. I'm one of those people who always tries to find the right word to use, which can take a moment for an abstract thought. I'm hoping by the time of upload that they're mostly all below 2 minutes or so.

Hey, just a question: do you want your real name or DV name in the credits?

I want my Clyde Machine name in the credits. It's incredibly less professional, but I prefer Clyde Machine as my name out in the world.

Actually, let's discuss this. If this is to be a well-done but still only amateur documentary, real names won't be required to prove credibility, as all we have to do is provide whatever names we prefer (real names, nick names, aliases or screennames) that might be linked to our activities around DV, to prove that we're lucid dreamers. However, since all we have to do is talk on the subject of it, we're not being asked to act like professors and give credible background on ourselves - real names in this case aren't required, in my eyes, but if this documentary was meant to go on to be something professional, we would have to include our real names as we would have to be credible information resources. While we're credible to each other in this documentary, I think this being an amateur documentary will only constitute we provide a screenname or alias or another non-real name for ourselves, providing real names only if we so choose and are comfortable with doing so.

It should just be up to each person whether or not they want their real name - it's not necessary, but it will make you look more serious. I think the name "Clyde Machine" should be serious enough for me, as I use it [url=http://www.myspace.com/clydemachine]all over the net[/u] and it's really more like a second name or alias to me than just my DV screenname.

It'll take a while before I can actually do it, but I should be able to. I'll get on it when I can.

Also, I am constantly told that I can do the 'announcers voice'. I have performed opening announcements before for drama, and always wow people with how close I can get to movie trailers' voice-over. I can do the narration if you need it...
