Smile Talking with a Dream Character

Alright so I just finished watching the movie Waking Life (which is an awesome movie about dreaming!) and it got me thinking about talking with our own personal DCs and how they would react to certain questions.

So my question is: Has anyone ever told a DC that they are only a figment of your imagination and technically not real? (or anything similar to this)
If so, how did they react? What happened to them?

I'm really curious about it so feel free to share!

Haha that's crazy, yeah the next time I get into a LD i'm definitely gonna ask one of my DCs to see what their reaction is.

What did you say to them?

Do you think DCs have their own "will"?

      By which I mean:
They obviously are just parts of your mind (unless you believe dreams have spiritual connections), and you can control them, but do you think they sort of have their own "minds"; like they are "thinking" using part of your own mental capacity?

Thats an interesting idea but i just think your mind it creating their current movements, expressions, etc. and not having them think about it. They are basically objects that move and make noise in the dream.

I love my dream guide. I'd never tell him that because I never want him to go away.

I do it for shits and giggles only to have them look at me, confused, or completely ignore what I'm saying.

One time I told this to a couple of dream characters, and they started arguing with each other because they didn't want me to know it was a dream, as if they were keeping it a secret.

I told my dream family they were not real... They started laughing at me. They called me crazy and stuff. So I shot water out of my finger and they said everybody could do that. I gave up and flew away.
      Me, "Why are you crying?"
DC, "People won't be my friend because I'm ugly."
Me, "Well I will be your friend... I guess."
DC, "Ewww no! Your ugly too."

Your question made me instantly picture a rather odd philosophy of death.
We all know that when you die it's because your senses simply disappear, however, what if when you die your mind continues to flourish? You become permanently trapped inside of a hallucinatory world of your own, and perhaps then, our world is simply the dream of another individual larger than ourselves, which brings me to Drop theory, if this is true then each character in our dream would then have the very same thing happen to them, their death would lead to this same situation, their dreams to the blooming of another world, and the same with those in their newly created world.

And this is why we only use a portion of our full intellect, we are all connected to a single individual who began to dream very vividly. Ha, I guess you could call him God, or whatever else you want.

Anyway, yes, I am aware that this is very, very, very, very unlikely. Some might even say impossible, but I then ask you, have you died yet?

If your dream guide is really a guide I would expect him to already hold this bit of information, maybe this is a conversation you and him should have.

That would be pretty cool/interesting. Maybe we wake up in the matrix.

I once told a DC that he wasn't real and the world he lived in was apart of my imagination. He reacted by looking at me in sheer horror, almost as if he just realised his entire life was a lie.
I took this to my advantage and commanded him to get me something, otherwise I would 'kill' him.

My favorite was when I told my brother that he wasn't real. He did this crazy person dance and screamed incoherently.

I've done this a few times. Each time the DC's get angry and argue with me that they are just as real as I am and that I shouldn't be telling people things like that.

I like to do it just to see their reaction. Nearly always anger though.

Therand, I think it's totally possible that certain DCs based on real-life people are using mental resources. Especially with family and close friends, you have a very strong intuition about reactions and can sometimes predict what they're going to say. Depending on what parts of the brain are active in a given dream, these resources might be put to use, i.e. your skeptic of a friend would say "Bulls*** I'm a figment of your imagination" while your hypochondriac friend would panic and disappear instantly.
