Lucid Question/Control
So I am still very new to lucid dreaming. I have had one or two of them and usually lose control seconds later or wakeup. But last night something different happened.
I was dreaming I was in a forest with this guy we'll call Sam. Following us was a little boy we'll call Trent. Sam was leading the way and telling me he could teach me to control my dreams and my dream powers. I said okay and we continued walking. Then I realized I was dreaming because Sam is on a TV show I watch. So I turned to the little boy, grabbed his face to see how real it felt and yelled at him "I'm dreaming and I know it! Haha!" Then I ran after Sam. I realized Sam now had long hair and I did not like this. So I focused and shut my eyes and imagined him with short hair. When I opened my eyes he looked like some random ugly dude. I was quite upset so I tried again this time Sam ended up back but in an ugly magicians outfit. Then he rolled his eyes at me and said I seriously needed to practice my control more. Then I woke up.
So first off, Sam weirded me out a little...all telling my he is going to teach me how to control my dreams? Is this like my subconscious or something?
Also I can't seem to control the dream, like obviously Sam's short hair never returned. How can I control what I want to happen or appear?

Wow...I like this Sam. :D
Personally, I think Sam is you Dream Guide. See if he shows up again to teach you control, and ask him some questions. As for you trying to control things, just keep practicing until you get the hang of it. :) There are a few threads in the Dream Control forum that have different ways of controlling certain aspects of dreams when you're Lucid.

Thanks for the help. I checked out some of the tutorials. I need to study my hands! ^^
Ooh, a dream guide now that sounds pretty cool. I hope he does show up again to help me out. I need it ;)
I also noticed some stuff about trying to keep your mind calm, I think that might be my problem too. In my dream I obviously freaked out because I was lucid so I need to try and tone that down.

Control takes practice. I always find that indirect control is much easier than direct. You could try something like telling sam, "I'm going to turn around and then turn back to face you. If you don't cut/change your hair back to normal length by the time I turn back around...your dead!" Or something similar. You could try asking nicely as well, but DCs (in my dreams anyway) respond better to threats. Of course, you should also practice direct control. Practice and experience goes a long way when it comes to LDs. Good luck to you!

I have not had another lucid since but that sounds like it might work Yoshi, thanks! I think just saying something outloud in my dream might help me control it too.
I always find once I become lucid I keep trying to do all these things and the dream will change but usually not in exactly the way I want, like something will be missing from it. For example say I became lucid and wanted to be on LOST the tv show, I would probably end up in either with the characters or just on the island alone with random people. So I would get like half of what I was trying to get.
