WILD like you never WILDed before...
Well honestly, i have heard that it is hard, and i have actually tried once, and i didnt feel anything, in fact, i couldnt fall alseep.
Dein, welcome to the forum first off.
I have also once asked the same question when I joined.
I do have muliple answers/questions.
Here are the questions,
Have you been keeping a dream journal?
Have you been keeping up with at least 2 reality checks?
Would you rate your dreams vivid from a scale of 1-5?
Do you have any time worth of sleep to sacrifice?
If the answer is yes to most or all of the questions above, I suggest you try the easiest and most popular method on the forum. It is called a MILD.
Mneumonic Induced Lucid Dream, is what the acronym stands for. A breif overview of this method is: You wake up after you had a dream, or at least 4-5 hours after you sleep, and try to recall your dream. If you are able to remember your dream, then try to think of some dream sign. Dream signs could be anything, for example, if you saw a purple cat in your room in your dream, you would know that you were dreaming. Thus, while going back to sleep tell yourself that you will recognize some kind of dream sign and therefore become lucid.
Another method, requires little work. It is called the DILD. It is the Dream Induced Lucid Dream, in which you recognize you are dreaming from either a dream sign, or a reality check within your dreams. If you form a habit of doing reality checks (takes about 3-4 weeks) by doing at least 2 reality checks a day, you should do them in your dream and result in becoming lucid. This is the most frequent type of LD, and usually is the one that is most common.
There are many other methods, but I suggest you stick with these not to get confused. After you are comfortable with these techniques, and so forth, you may explore the tutorial sections here: http://dreamviews.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=25For more info/ methods.
Also, if you are interested there is an academy for dreaming, which you can attend to learn more, and progress further into LDing.

Thank you for the help, but i honestly have a hard time seeing the difference between MILD and DILD. Also, is it easier to get LDs with the MILD method if you are good at dream recalling?.
Yes it is better with the MILD technique. This is because you are able to recall your dreams, and make a statement in your subconscious that you will realize you are dreaming from some kind of dream sign in your dream. A DILD is where you do a reality check or you tell yourself you are dreaming already in the dream. There is a significant difference.

Don't let 'em fool ya, dawg. WILD ain't all that hard. Neither is LDing in general.
When I first joined DV and didn't know much, I had some quick WILD success.
Give it a go and you may be surprised. Yes, you CAN-WILD!
There is no failure. Only progress. ;)
While making a cup of coffee, you notice that you are running pretty low on coffee beans. So you take a mental note that next time you go into the shop you will buy some coffee.
Later in the day you go to the shop, as soon as you step in you instantly remember to buy some coffee.
MILD essentially works in the same way. However, this time you are taking a mental note to perform a RC or spot a dream sign.
Thank you all for your help, the MILD methods seems like the easiest one, so when i have become better at dream recalling, and (hopefully) found my dream signal, i will try it out. But i most likely wont record my dreams for the next couple of days as i am sick and will need all the sleep i can get to get better. But once i get better, i will begin.
For MILD to completely effective, you need to do it every single day. Almost make it a part of your routine.
Remember that you will not always see results instantly, this is why persistences and patience is needed. I promise all the hard work will pay off!
I would also suggest thinking about some Dream Goals :)
I whould recommend to start with WBTB or DEILD/FILD in the beginning. They don´t require that much effort.
When you´re more experienced later on, you could try WILD. I think WILD is the most reliable technique, but difficult to learn. I´ve had little succes with it so far but DEILD has worked great for me. You could say that DEILD/FILD is a shortcut to WILD.
And for WBTB I whould say that staying up for 10 - 20 minutes is enough. Do some simple affirmations that will help you realize that your dreaming and just go back to sleep while thinking of lucid dreaming.
