Sleep cycle - Question
Hi,
When does sleep cycle starts? Is it when You close your eyes or when u fall asleep?
Im trying to wake up into REM phrase after 6h of sleep but theres a delay of when I close my eyes and fall a sleep so I should set my alarm to 6 hours after closing eyes or guessing when I will fall asleep and then add 6 hours?
Thanks.

Sleep cycle starts from when you fall asleep. This is usually when you lose conscinouss of your surroundings, unless when u are WILDing or following a similar technique, which is when u hit sp. I have attached a sleep cycle graph and it says that deep sleep usually occours after 6hrs which is not a good time to set the wild alarm. However 5hrs is right in the middle of rem. And set the alarm the number of hours after you fall asleep eg if u close ur eyes at 10:00 and it takes 15 minutes to fall asleep you set ur alarm at 3:15 to have sleep for 5hrs.

Hope this helps.

6hrs is actually the most popular time to WILD. You can't rely on these sleep graphs. I can show you a hundred of them that are all different. It is also different for every person. If you really want to know use a product like My ZEO or get asleep study done (if you have a medical excuse of course). You should experiment between 4-5 and 6 hours and see what works best for you. If you are too far in the REM cycle then you will limit the time. You want to WILD right before the REM cycle starts.
