      hypnosis?

I have never been hypnotized, nor do I know anything about it. But is it possible to be hypnotized to be able to lucid dream whenever you choose?
I know that people believe hypnosis can open your mind, and possibly even change the way you think about some things. So could hypnosis allow me to lucid dream whenever I want? If so, has anyone ever tried this?

      I think so

So far, I'm not an LDer, but I'm working on it and I have read a good deal on altering consciousness and the power of belief and I believe that hypnosis would work. Self-hypnosis would probably achieve the best results since you can personally tailor it however you want it. There are a few posts on self-hypnosis here if you run a search you should find them. Achieving an altered state through telling yourself something over and over is pretty much what it is and there are many and varied ways to go about it. Meditation is a good start, first relaxing, then focusing on your breathing, then moving on to concentrated thoughts on whatever it is you want to achieve. Try to keep your mind focussed on it, for LD especially before sleep, while staying relaxed and not forcing it too much. If your mind wanders, simply let the thought go gently and return to whatever you're working on. Use this in your life in any area you want to work on.
      Hope I was helpful.

I have been hypnotized before, on a cruise once a year or 2 ago, supposedly I was a riot and my family says they have never laughed so hard in their entire lives, but I dont remember it at all except for the crappy video my dad shot. But yes, I do believe that it can work for lucid dreaming, hypnosis is a very powerful thing.. The guy that hypnotized me said upon awakening the following day I would feel refreshed, energized and I would be in one of the best moods of my life, and he was totally correct, it was an awesome day, granted I was on a cruise, but my mood was crazy good and it was just awesome. So yeah, I definately believe if you were under hypnosis and the suggestion to remember your dreams and remember that you are dreaming and to have a lucid dream it would definately make it easier on beginners and help out a lot with experts, its just soo hard to alter the subconcious that with some help from hypnosis I believe you can definately get there.
