So far, I'm not an LDer, but I'm working on it and I have read a good deal on altering consciousness and the power of belief and I believe that hypnosis would work. Self-hypnosis would probably achieve the best results since you can personally tailor it however you want it. There are a few posts on self-hypnosis here if you run a search you should find them. Achieving an altered state through telling yourself something over and over is pretty much what it is and there are many and varied ways to go about it. Meditation is a good start, first relaxing, then focusing on your breathing, then moving on to concentrated thoughts on whatever it is you want to achieve. Try to keep your mind focussed on it, for LD especially before sleep, while staying relaxed and not forcing it too much. If your mind wanders, simply let the thought go gently and return to whatever you're working on. Use this in your life in any area you want to work on. |
