It really is just amazing what some people can do, isn't it?

I'd love to see a journal entry of someone trying this out in a lucid, that's for sure xD

That's pretty cool. Might try this.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Yeah that's pretty sweet. I might add it to the list of things to do hehe. I've thought that Parkour would be fun to try out too.

just found this thread today - interesting because i was sort of lucid in one dream this morning and was jumping a bike off of cars in oncoming traffic. i kept dipping forward and landing wrong, but it was fun flying off of people's windshields.

i've gotten better at skateboarding in lucids and there's an endless number of things i can do just with that.
i mountain bike but it could be great in a lucid dream because i wouldn't have to worry about terrible injuries and could probably phase through trees instead of hitting them
i didn't really know people did this, because i've mainly seen bmx bikes, which i don't like much.

i'm going to go listen to music and watch a bunch of videos like this on mute for inspiration (and snowboarding, skateboarding etc., too)

It's awesome, but I don't think there's much point to doing it in a lucid.

First of all, parkour on a bike, that is awsome, i agree.
It would be good to do in an ld if you cant do it in real life and dont want to um, die? lol

That was one sweet video. And that guy was on a BMX bike, right?

I might give this a shot in a lucid. I'd rather try it in real life, but it'd be cool to pull some of that stuff in lucids.

One thing I'm wondering about the video: He glides (stops pedaling) for some parts, then in other parts he is pedaling backward, and still putting power to the wheels. In my experience with bikes, I've never seen a bike that can switch from forward only to direct power like that, let alone seamlessly.

      Can anybody explain this?

Sometimes I wonder if anyone has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

I saw that spot where he was pedaling backward, but I thought it was still a forward-only, but his momentum was carrying him backward and he just backpedaled at a slow speed to make it look as though he was pedaling. That, or he was using different bikes for different parts of the video. I'm pretty sure they were all forward-only bikes though.

no, it isn't a bmx - it's a modified mountain bike (if you want to call it that) with the seat really low so it doesn't get in the way or bust his balls. it has a similar frame as a mtn. bike, but without suspension (which would make that kind of control difficult because of the sus. travel). it's not a fixed gear, for another thing (if i'm seeing it clear enough), and it has disc brakes - it would be really hard to break properly for this kind of stuff using v-brakes, too.

haha only a kid's big wheel can pedal backwards. when he backpedals he's just resetting his footing on the pedals.

i'm really amazed by how high he can jump the bike - i can't do that more than a couple feet and he's going over fences and whatnot :O
