If DCs are part of yourself why did he ask me about...

So last night i managed to stand up and walk out of my sleeping body in bed. There weren't any transitions (no blackouts etc) from when i lay myself down. Jumped through the wall going outside and later i came to this unknown place.
Now, i am taking an astral projection course online and this weeks "homework" is to try to get to Mount Everest. In the astral/dream i met this dude and i say "I'm doing an online course and trying to meet up..." he interrupts me and says "Easter island?". "No, Mount Everest i say".
When i woke up i googled a bit, and found out that Easter island have been used by other people for trying to meet up.
If this DC was a part of me, how can he say something i'm sure i didnt know? I don't think i ever read about Easter Island at all during these months where i discovered LD.
Or was this something i could have guessed if i been asked one day which places in the world would most likely been used?
Question is : Where he real? :D

You probably have heard or read it somewhere, just your subconscious remembers it and the rest of your brain doesn't. Have you ever read about WakingNomad's dream sharing thingy? He talks about how he tried meeting people in shared dreams at various places, and i think Easter Island was mentioned.

I have read about that dream sharing thingy, but only half a page or something. So you could dream a small detail from a book you read many years back? Or things from your childhood which all are in your subconscious and have no chance to remember what so ever in waking life?

Yes. Your subconscious is huge and remembers nearly everything ;P

I wish I could tap into my subconscious and remember everything. That would sure help with my final tomorow lol

Some possibilities:

- You had a shared dream, this was another dreamer who you met. Scientific study of shared dreams is very young, and it hasn't been proven yet. But there are many DV members, including me, who can vouch for the possibility of shared dreams, and who have documented a shared dream. WakingNomad, Raven Knight, Walms, and Man Of Shred all regularly document shared dreams. Nobody blames you if you think its BS (trust me, even the shared dreamers sometimes wonder) but don't discount it.

- You saw it somewhere before, and forgot it.

- It was a huge coincidence-- Easter island is a well known place, and likely to popup in dreams, as are other places like the Eiffel tower, Empire State building, Area 51, and the Black Sea. The moon is also a place people like to meet up.

Let me ask a question. Can the mind teach itself? Is there any environmental system that abstracts from itself?

Let us suppose that you eventually acquire enough information to learn that you are not dealing with just your own mind--would that mean that the myths of man are real? I dont think so. What you learn in the state is all you actually know. Perhaps you will figure it out.

Let me ask you this, if telepathy were real, and life were abundant in the galaxie, could savage minds be set free in such a society? Or would they have to be tended, like children?

PS. The most dangerous part of our psychology is making assumptions about that which we do not know. Look at religion in general and think about all those who tossed away their life assuming they were too special to be let to die. Part of learning, an important part, is being aware of knowing and not knowing.
