I'd love to help you but I don't fully understand what you want to know...

it sounds to me like you were going into sleep paralysis...that's about all I understand. sleep paralysis is perfectly normal and happens every night as you go to sleep. the next time you find yourself conscious while it is happening, just relax and close your eyes. you'll probably hear noises and see strange images (called Hypnogogic Imagery) but it's all normal. just try to stay aware, you'll eventually enter a dream. if you've managed to hold onto your awareness, it will be a lucid dream, if not, a normal dream. (staying aware during this process is a technique called WILD- Wake Initiated Lucid Dreams)

I really don't know if I've helped, if I didn't or if you want more information just let me know.

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
