Was trying a WILD, but got something else.

Well this morning after going up a bit early for myself in the morning and staying up but then deciding I want to go back to sleep and try out a WILD I went to my normal sleep position and laid in bed for a while trying to go back to sleep but I started to think about one thing and the another but still trying to sleep the same time I at last felt like I should be asleep by now but my mind was way to active and was preventing the transition to go to sleep and enter the dream.

I noticed a short cloudy vision in this state and kind of caught it in the side of my view. I then started to wonder about that and then went to focus to have it again. It came back shortly after. It was a new view of something coming to my mind.
Soon I noticed I was being given answers to my thoughts I was having. I was seeing vivid images and flashes of things to answer my thoughts.
It went into showing manga figures and circumstances. They even had texts to go along with them. Some where the characters saying things or other times it was about a text for description of what is happening in this image.
It was like I was going through a manga and stopping at one image box here and there to answer my thought question but it was only the one image that came into view each instance and I started to read the text bubbles and such.
I started to ask questions and got answers in a way by giving thoughts into things. I kept going for a little while until I no longer could get more detailed answer to my questions. If I tried to have same question twice it wasn't answered as I've already been given the answer. There came sometimes another image and text to answer it differently in other words but the core of it was the same answer.
Some images and views were really vivid, Like looking unto a manga paperback. The images were black and white. The white of the pocket format paper texture.

What was this really?

Hmm... I'm thinking you fell asleep and that was a dream. You should have done a reality check. Or you were going into wild and that was some of the hallucinations you can see. But answers to your thoughts. Man I would love that on a test.

No I defiantly didn't drift off into full sleep. It was wavery and I actually still heard real life about. The images contained no sound. Only heard the generic background sound and the wind and birds outside the slightly open window at points, but I was mostly focused on seeing the actual images as it required a little more effort to get them clear and not just a dark blur.

I at times did for a split second or so open my eye between a few images but every time I did so it took a little more time before I got back into the same state again. At one time I moved my hand a little and it took even more time to get back.

basically you almost enter the dream, you enter REM sleep and REM dream are basically your thoughts in vivid images. I've had these sometimes, not the manga tho, where you are seeing images of your soon to become dream and still be aware of your surrounding like knowing your physical and dream body.

Yeah kind of, but I've had the soon to enter dream scenarios before which you describe. Where I can see the dream scenery form and if it goes on longer & deeper you can start to act in it. But these usually are unstable if I try to take control to soon.

This is toward it but the way it went it was still kinda different. When I drift of to regular sleep or lucid sleep I try to blank my mind without thinking anything special, keeping it to a minimum and letting the dream form and surround me.
With the active mind in full throttle it somehow tock a slight angle elsewhere toward what usually happens.
Usually with a active mind I never make it even close to fall asleep but this time I got close and it appeared in this strange session in this way.

Maybe I got something closer to what people meditating can achieve? I don't know if it's supposed to be blank or full throttle mind in these instances when they drift off.

I get dreams like this all the time when first falling asleep. It is like being completely consumed by your own thoughts, but not immersed in them, like a regular dream. This sounds like some descriptions I've read of NREM dreams.

Did you get any useful answers? It would be cool to induce this when you needed some help problem solving.

NREM? Haven't seen that term before.

Useful answers? Well would be good If I remembered them. I forgot them as soon as I got them >_>;
