      Am I Dreaming?

Yes, the other day something felt weird, though I really was sure I was awake, but decided to hey, ask anyways. So I asked my husband, who was sitting at the table doing some paperwork, if I was dreaming.

His answer, *answered with a bored tone of voice* Why do you want to know?
Me: because I need to know if this is a dream
      Him: Why?

I gave up on questioning him at that point as I wasn't getting a straight answer lol

Although it'd be just my luck if I was to question an actual dream character and have them give me a hard time about it

No I wasn't, should of made that more clear in the first post. He was just being stubborn, but I can see it happening if I really were dreaming and asked a dream character the same question.

maybe your husband wanted you to go further with your questions?

His answer, Why do you want to know?
Me: because I need to know if this is a dream
      Him: Why? [/b]
somtimes not getting a straight answer is more interesting than getting a yes or no

If you ask your next dream character if you are dreaming you'll probably wake up. The difficulty with my lucidity is in the recognition that I am dreaming and trying to stay there. You should definitely go to sleep!

Knowing him he was just being stubborn. I asked him again yesterday (while I was awake) out of curiosity to see what he'd say and he said about the same thing again. Why do you want to know? Why are you asking me? Than he thought he'd be smart and tell me I was dreaming.

Now if I continue to ask him, using him as a reality check (which isn't a good idea heh) I'm going to become paranoid about the answers I get if I ask dream characters the same question.

You could possibly be right there. I've never actually asked a dream character if I was dreaming, would be interesting to see what they say though. My problem when I'm in a lucid dream is I get so excited over being lucid that it tends to fade when it begins getting really good. I'm okay as long as I'm on my own it seems from past LD's, but if I'm interacting with anyone else, the excitement seems to wake me up.

I'm the same way with the excitement thing. Don't worry about the reply if you do ask a question of a dream character. I think just getting an answer would be a step forward. Apprehension may affect your LD ability. Just kind of let go. Good advice for myself also. Good night I'm going to sleep, who knows what fun and adventure await.
