Yeah, I have the dream-like sequences, usually based on what I'm thinking about before I fall asleep. |

Most times, when I go to bed, and am almost asleep, my brain begins playing short (i.e. five seconds or so) random dream-like sequences before I actually fall asleep and begin to dream. Does anyone else experience this? |

Yeah it happens to me too. Usaually it has nothing to do with what I'm thinking. I'll just see a short flash or an image. |

Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.

This is hypnagogia. You see, when your conscious begins to fall asleep the subconscious begins to come out. Some people experience this state naturally and others would experience it in hypnosis or meditation. It's basically just your subconscious' abstract thinking and imagination starting to come out. That's my understanding of it. |
