Great thread idea! I might just keep updating with new ones I think of or come across.

Check out the entire album, Microcastle, if you get the chance. Really, their entire discography is filled with beautifully surreal songwriting.

Also check out this entire album, Teen Dream. If you're looking for something more mellow and ethereal, this is the way to go over Microcastle.

I find myself wanting to recommend albums more than songs. Check out Lushlife as well; very mellow, dreamy trip-hop. Apologies for the lame fan video; only one I could find.

I would have to recommend Sigur Ros over any other band if you're looking for light, dreamy, almost spiritual music. Check out their entire discography as well. Start with Ágætis Byrjun and Takk...
Sigur Ros is good music to fall asleep to, as is most post-rock. If you're looking for music to pass out to also look into Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, and A Silver Mt. Zion.

Thought I'd add this as well while I'm at it. Great way to look up and listen to specific songs or albums on demand without much effort or commitment. You don't even have to sign up.
Completely agree with Sigur Ros, love all of their songs and I think you should enjoy them. Staralfur, Hljomalind, and Ara Batur are some great songs ones, but there's lots, lots more.

I'd also suggest M83, they have some good stuff:

Good call on M83. The video title just reminded me of King Krimson, this song specifically. It's very medieval sounding and reminds of wandering through a forest in a fairy tale.
