Information Needed
I'm going to write a book [fictional] about a person who lucid dreams, and I need some information from some actual people who does this [I will do this myself eventually, but not right now]
What I need to know is basically the experiance, what kind of people are you, what do you aim for, how long can you make your dreams last?
[by the way, wikipedia refuses to tell me anything of this kind of stuff]

Indeed, Wikipedia can't adequately describe something that so many have said can only be fully understood when one does it themselves. Even though we can't give you exactly what you're looking for, as you'll need to learn to have lucid dreams, you've at least come to the right place for learning and asking questions. :)
What kind of person am I in the lucid: Very controlling, yet very carefree. I care about others, but I tend to shamelessly kill people I don't know or recognize.
What do I am for: Most of the time: to take the dream's existing plot and make it into the most fun and interesting experience I can make it.
How long can I make my dreams last: Up to an hour, I think. I don't clock my dreams, I just have fun with them.

Hmm, I can't really help you because I've only had a couple of lucids.. But what I can say about the experience is that it feels extremely real! Like just last night I had my second ever lucid dream. I remember thinking I was in a dream and then doing a reality check. I plugged my nose and could breathe through it. The world looked so real that even though the reality check succeeded (felt weird lol) I still was kind of in disbelief. Like I just could not believe it, I think I did the reality check about 10 times and then still was doubtful. I didn't really attempt any control (didn't remember) but if I did than my aim would be to either create something or talk to someone. Destroying things (like the world) would be fun too but I'm not really one to want to kill people (although that's a popular thing to do). More of a creator than a destroyer.. Anyways as for length for dreams it depends, there is no standard or regular length. I've heard of people having extremely long lucid dreams, but remember time doesn't flow in dreams the same way it does in waking life.
