      Prison for Lucid Dreamers

I tell you how i got there.
I was having a stupid dream about killing a monster with weapons. It was in my former school. Long story short, i got out to the front of the building and the monster turned into a human, trying to blackmail me, then i did the nose RC and immediately after realizing i'm in a dream, i started doing stabilizing. I rubbed my hands together and said "More lucidity now!" (even though my language isn't english). This was the first time i tried this and the dream got so clear that it was better than reality. The guy was still talking to me and i said "FU i'm outta here". So i started to run very fast on the sidewalk. I swear i felt the wind on my skin. For some reason i met Jessica Alba and ofc i wanted to kiss her, she didn't stop, so i told her "stop!", didn't work so i said "you stop now.", it worked so i kissed her. Here i made a big mistake: closed my eyes. I still felt her lips and i had an org*sm for some reason, then i woke up in my room:
Bart Simpson was my brother (i don't even watch The Simpsons..). I knew i was dreaming, but RCs didn't work. I closed my nose with my fingers and just a bit of air came through. I pinched my arm and sort of felt the pain. I tried to push my finger through my hand but couldn't (never tried that before). The door was blocked, i couldn't get out. I pushed my finger against the window glass and it was solid. I saw sunlight and i knew it was dark some seconds ago. So i was trapped in there for a minute or two and wasn't really sure if i'm dreaming or not. I think the DC was put in there just so i won't get paranoid. No RCs worked that i could think about then.
It was like if i was in the prison of the dream world for having an LD. I know it sounds stupid, but did this ever happen to somebody else?

edit: I woke up after that. I think my brain wanted to trick me so i won't have another LD.

It seems like it's impossible for me to make a thread which people want to reply to

pinching yourself is a very unreliable reality check

You had an FA and then you lost control of your dream. Happens all the time

But i kept doing RCs. I wasn't completely lost. The RCs just didn't seem to work.

I've heard the arm pinching is a bad one, the nose one always worked for me and now it didn't work well.
Anyway, it was a great experience until i closed my eyes. I wanted to share.

Eh, any RC will fail, just that they don't often, tons of RC won't work for me for example, reading text, numbers, light, electronics, hands, nose-pinch and many others are unreliable for me, completely normal.

If you knew you were dreaming already, why the RCs?

I get the thoroughness of wanting to verify what you already know - and it probably isn't always as counterproductive as it seems to have been here - but do you think its possible that by questioning yourself, your understanding/intuition/whatever that you were dreaming, that maybe you set your RCs up to the possibility of contradicting your belief that you were dreaming? I don't have an answer. I was just wondering how the power of suggestion may have worked in this situation.

In many respects, we are in a prison, that is another synonym for the inability to use our mind in accordance with the truth of things. It is exactly what is meant by "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

You can look at it again, children, before they come of age are in a prision. The prision is a necessity brought on by a simple evolutionary process. Learn to see the same idea in the many ways it is expressed in words and usages.

The Garden of Eden, or the Garden of God, is just such a metaphor. We are still in it.

But keep in mind, in any war, it is the duty of a prisoner to escape.

Without the RC, my lucid dream isn't entirely lucid. Once I had a lucid dream where i didn't do a RC and i remember telling the DCs that i'm dreaming and wanted to show them that i can fly. Before i showed them, i had to do the RC because i was afraid it would hurt if i fell on my back instead of levitating. I wasn't 100% sure that i'm dreaming. I need RCs to have real LDs, otherwise it's just a simple dream which is very vivid.
So far, before every LD until i successfully did a Reality check, i thought about the theory of me dreaming at the moment as a funny impossibility. I don't actually realize it until a RC works. I guess that's something i have to work on.
I have OCD which is an anxiety disorder that makes me check things that i already know are done right, but i still check them. This may affect my Lucid Dreaming and if it does, i have to work on it even harder than other people. :S

im with cambria on this one, i think it was your state of mind that made them fail. as soon as one failed, you must have had doubts, and that made the other ones fail. they fail less often when you expect them to work, dont do it just to do it.

Why do you even bother to keep posting? Noone is reading your posts anyway. It's a waste of time for you.

I always enjoy Phil's posts. We need him here to fill the void that exists without him.
