I've been trying to lucid dream for months (almost a year) and discovered a technique that really works (at least for me). When I used to be in high school I used to read a lot of books and slacked off by the time I graduated. I decided to get a digital voice recorder (it's by Sony the model number is ICDPX312) because I had an English professor in college that didn't write much on the board (he's most likely a audio learner). I had recorded a couple of affirmations with the recorder and then put it in the background of and mp3 song. I listened to the song all day and had a very strong urge to read books.

Here's how to combine your voice with a song on Audacity.

1. Open the mp3 file then open your recorded file.

2. Go under effect > amplify and go to -17.9

3. Then process it as an mp3.

4. After you process it as an mp3 open it again under Audacity.

5. Then go under edit > select > all then click edit > copy then click edit > cut.

6. Then make sure the mp3 (song) isn't selected directly then press ctrl V.

7. Listen to the song to make sure you can't consciously hear it.

8.Enjoy.

Edit: you have to get a plugin in order to process mp3s. More info later.
