Awakening the Third Eye/ Third Eye Meditation.

Ok so, I've been reading that free book called "Awakening the Third Eye" and am working on the third eye meditation. When I get to the space where you are supposed to spiral into the tunnel, I always have trouble, but just now I did it. Although, after a while, I noticed that it was actually my physical body making a circle. Like, if you were to look at me from directly above you would see my head moving clockwise in a circle, with my entire torso area being the pivot if you know what I mean. I thought this was weird and might be the wrong channeling of my energy so anyone who could advise would be appreciated.

I have just yesterday started to read this book. It so far does make a good impression and I especially like, that it is supposed to work without any kind of visualization, but instead with awareness.

That is why that vortex/tunnel did puzzle me a bit, as after all one is not supposed to visualize. I figured, that it is something that just happens at some point - so far I did not get any such vortex or tunnel. How long have you been practicing already with this?
I think, that it is not the idea to move the physical body in this at all, as it is pointed out to keep the neck straight, so the energy can flow more easily. But on the other hand, if it helps and happened spontaneously, I think it is ok to do. From my experience I would say, just go with the flow and what feels right to you.

I'm inexperienced to third eye meditation but thanks for the book; I've just began to read it.

Yeah that's kind of what I thought. I've only got to that stage (if it WAS indeed the vortex) once, most of the time I skip it (which the book says you can do if you wish) and just go to the awareness above the head. I've been doing it for abouit a week now and am still on the third-eye meditation. The book says that you should remain doing the third-eye meditation for the first few weeks after opening the third eye and then moving on so I've done that. I did read some further things, but I mostly want to make sure the meditation is mastered before moving on. Seems quite simple though, and the book really inspires my confidence as everything it says will happen if you follow the technique has happened so far for me, unlike countless other techniques. I realize that this isn't necessarily for lucid dreaming, but my theory is that this form of discipline will bring forth the mindset necessary to be more aware even in your dreams. Let me know how you guys are coming along as you progress and any helpful tips you might have! :)

Yes, doing the third-eye meditation is seen as the most important one recommended to be done every morning for at least about 10 min. But I understood, that you can also already do some of the exercises further back in the book during the day/evening in the first weeks.
I have been reading a bit further and for basically all the following exercises so far the eye-meditation is the foundation, but the vortex is not needed - just the vibration, light and space part.

As I have already experience in energy work and moving awareness through the body, the vibrations I feel very easily. When it comes to the light or space, I do not notice yet much, but then I have been practicing only for few days now.

Ah yes, that's what I thought too. The vortex is near impossible for me because I always gravitate towards the space and then jump straight to the awareness above the head, which I have been doing intermittently spontaneously every so often when trying to get to sleep since I was a kid. Aren't you supposed to see visions and stuff though? So far my experiences have been blackness, except for the lights of course.

Visions are supposed to take some time depending on the individual person. Maybe you should read further to the chapter 5 "seeing", as I think those exercises are the first to result in "visions and stuff".
On the other hand I myself have learned to not just look for visions, but appreciate also other impressions, like emotions and feelings. I also had many LDs without vision, but I did just "feel" my way and somehow did pick up lots of information without the need to see - I found it really interesting. So be open and just notice what shows up, would be my advice. :meditate:

Alright, sounds good. :) So far I've only been able to get that floaty feeling with the randomly moving lights beforehand. I'll read into it though!

Now I have been practicing and reading a bit more, some more impressions from my side.

Practicing the throat friction did help me to raise my awareness of the area, which does have positive effects on my chakra there. I do use it often in a very low version, so it is not that noisy and might highlight the area instead with a bit of a click from my vocal cords, like when cleaning ones throat, but just the first sound. In this way I can practice while taking a walk and on many other activities without drawing attention. As I had for a while a blockade from the throat up, which was only lately opening up, this exercise came just in time to speed up the process.

The third eye meditation I mostly do now work with the awareness on the vibration, as I do not have a good feeling for the light nor the space. Instead I use rather the time before falling asleep, when it is all dark to become aware of the light and the space. I assume, that with time I will get a better feeling for light+space, then I will start working more with those also. So I adjust things a bit for me.

Also I for now do not practice the "seeing" - exercises, all those visual things are not yet for me. That is one reason I started to learn LD, as with LD I can have visual experiences connected with my subconscious.

So my focus will be for now to work with the channel release exercises mostly, those complement nicely with some of the meditations I like to do for preparing to WILD. Also I started to experiment with combining them with my Chi-Gong practice.

I am not yet finished with reading the book, but will read it the coming days to get an overview and an outlook.

Wow, sounds like you're just blasting through it lol. I prefer to take my time, but as the book says, whatever works for you. Glad you've had some good results though. I missed one full day of third eye meditation and it took me two days to get back to the level I was before. Definately not something you want to skip.

I havn't been doing much of anything except the third eye meditation, but this weekend I think I'll go to the channel release and see how that goes!
