Thread: Urge to look, just to find someone is looking back at you?

Not to sound skeptical, but how many times do you look over and nobody is there. These times would not be as noticeable, and therefore as memorable.
Another possibility: Our brains pretty much work the same way. We like to believe that we are unique and special, and in our minds we are, but we react to things pretty much the same way. Certain stimulus = certain response, even if it is on a subconscious level. So, it stands to reason that there would be certain stimulus' that would trigger the act of looking over. It might be a stop light, or any moment when two cars are driving parallel to one another at the same speed. It could be something even less noticeable or obvious.
OR you could be picking up on the energy sent by that other person, either on a psychic level, or due to something like the cosmic knowledge.
OR you just look really funny, and people are staring at you. Do you usually wear a jester hat?

Agreed. Usually, I am in a trance-like state (it's hard to stay focused when I am driving an hour to work and back everyday!)...so my mind tends to wander. But, then all of a sudden I am pulled out of the trance. I imagine the parallel car thing is one reason.

Peripheral vision

Some thing happens to me constantly, expect I'm on the other end. I look at someone and a split second later they turn to look at me as if they somehow sensed that I was looking at them. Seems to happen most often when I'm in a car.

This happens to a LOT of people a LOT of times. I don't really consider it a coincidence that i suddenly turn around and see someone else just coming around a corner a block away and our eyes meet at the same time. It's not like i do frequent 180's and just happen to remember those turns when i've seen something worth remembering. Just another of the Mysteries of the Universe that science, as of yet, has no explanation for. Science has evolved to the point that they can now verify that Quantum Entanglement is a very real phenomena. I'm a simple man but my understanding is this... once two electrons become 'entangled' they can be separated by feet or miles or be on opposite sides of the planet and yet when the spin of one electron is caused to change the spin of the other electron changes -simultaneously- ... as in, FASTER than the speed of light. (ie; two electron are made to become entangled then each is placed in its own separate vacuum tube and carried to opposite ends of the earth... set up like 10 of these (paired) tubes in a row and apply the requisiste stimulus to change the spin of an electron on the other side of the earth and send information fastert than the speed of light in a binary manner)

It's also true that you cannot see a thing without effecting it in a very real and often measureable manner. As soon as you 'see' an electron with a microscope you have affected its trajectory. We pour energy out of our eyes, we are energetic beings after all. We also don't have just one shadow... for every point of light and every surface capable of reflecting light ... there is another shadow. An orange (fruit) sitting in the middle of a room causes the entire room to become more orange colored. Subconsciously we are able to pick up on such things... so this is not to say that there isn't a physical real world explanation for the phenomena being discussed.... just that the explanation itself may be more miraculous than we even allow ourselves to believe.

The Synchronistic Phenomenon defines the synchronistic look as when two parties, not looking at each other, suddenly look at each other at the same time without provocation.

When you look up and see someone was already looking at you, you simply felt their presence (the vibes from someone increase dramatically when they start staring at you). However, if you both look at the same time, this is a sign that you are supposed to make contact in order to understand your spiritual path. Your spiritual path is whatever obstacles you face in the moment. So for example if you're worried about your car breaking down and suddenly make random eye contact, that person may know a good mechanic.

The Syncronystic Phenomenon seems to describe what I was contemplating...thank-you! In the past, I have acted upon impulses to talk to people and vice versa. Although nothing occured at the moment, that I recall; whose to say that those conversations didn't influence something down the line. A way of thinking, a new perspective...some insight.

normally it means they are focusing energy on you and you feel it. so you have the urge to look over to see whats up.

Again, that occurs when someone has already been intently staring at you. If you both look at the same time then that, as far as synchronistic theory claims, is significant beyond a human's capacity to send vibes to another. I'll include the exception of peripheral focus, whereas someone focuses on you from the corner of their eye, or even focuses on you utilizing their sixth sense (sensing your energy flow and focusing on it)

It's important here to define the spiritual path in greater detail. In order to follow your spiritual path, you must pay utmost focus on this very moment and take nothing for granted. Where did that thought that entered your head just now come from? Why did it come? Coincidence is the most profound manifestation of your spiritual signposts but every single happening within the moment correlates back to your path. Your path can be defined as the most prominent question you have at the moment. At any given time, every one has a question. Sometimes, you may have the answer, and the synchronistic look may be caused by their question finding your answer. In any case, there is communication occurring between subtle minds, and as these subtle minds communicate they transform to material manifestation to enable us to see our way forward.

I always look at hot girls, and imagine fucking them. Then they suddenly look at me, straight in the eyes. And they know. Then I look away and pretend I'm busy, not just simply unable to talk to people.

Seriously though. Usually I think this happens because in your peripheral vision you notice something move. And probably because our brains are wired to search for faces, we look more often when there is a face looking toward us.

Probably a sort of Namaste thing. Basically it is a mutual recognition of the Divine within one another.
