Oh I know ...but a small one is still expensive. But worth it I'm sure. I am definitely getting one. I just need to pick. Or maybe I can get my cousin to order some, she has a metaphysical retail store.

(I really want a gong as well, but imagine that would be pretty pricey)

Methinks that perhaps I should engage in vibrational chanting the next I meditate, since lying there on a bed trying to get centered through resting and focusing on a chakra much like a pressure point has not been so successful recently.

      Must've lost the techinque somewhere?

      <---- Rookie

      ...

Anyhow, It is quite true that certain sounds and vibrations will affect the mind in many different ways. I have a collection of meditation music by Brainwave Mind Voyages that is based solely on solfeggio healing frequencies. Being someone who studies music theory, they seem kinda... dissonant when applied together. ... Always found music like this puzzling in a way (pitchwise).

What has my unconscious been up to lately? See my Dream Journal HERE! =)

I've wanted to get one ever since I used one. No idea where to get them, I always look around when I'm in a music store though, but it's not really an instrument I guess.

Also, I'm not sure why but "metaphysical retail store" made me laugh.

you can use different tuning forks to open different chakras.

personally i have a program that generates tones for meditation.. i have a .wav for each chakra. works really well i do every morning if i have time. i lost my bookmark to the page which had all the frequencies listed but im sure you can find it on google.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look on google and link to anything good I find. I really love musical instruments or anything that gives off vibrations, tuning forks sound interesting as well. I really want a drum too. Eventually I'll have a little music room for all my mediation toys lol.

Is that brainwave entertainment, velinxs? I've heard of that, but wasn't sure if it'd be worth it to get it. But you say it seems to work pretty well? I'd be interested in trying that out if you think it would be productive for someone like me.

Sure is possible. Not trying to be blunt, but it's called "Overtone Singing". Tuvan throat singing is a type of said. In fact, I can. Here are some videos of it:

It took me about a month to get it down pretty well. You can search for videos on youtube if you want to learn.

      Here's what I'm talking about...

And tkdyo...yes...but that's another thread entirely.
They are throat singing. A tibetan chanting is a deeper version of kargyraa (which is already the harshest) style of khoomei throat singing. I learned how to throat sing a while ago, but never thought about using it in meditation/ lucid dreaming I'm definitely trying to incorporate it into lucid dreaming and meditating.

As I have experience in such chanting I can tell that if you use your diaphragm properly your voice is freaking loud and vibrant. You can feel real deep vibration in your throat and head

Gotta try it asap, time to freshen it up

BTW. Overtone singing is achieved by a proper position of tongue

sorry for the late reply Rainman but yeah it's a combination of brainwave entrainment and the specific pitches of tones open certain chakras... the combination of the two creates one potent meditation experience.

pm me and i can give you details about how to obtain a copy of the program i use to create the tones, and i can help you with any questions about what frequencies and beats per second to use.

Hey Aquanina, where did you learn that? How could I learn how to do that?

And, I have used chanting to vibrate different areas of my psycho/ and psycho-physical energy body using sounds composition of my own creativity for meditation.

Irken, do you have any experience on chanting like these monks?
What is the "projection" you mentioned?

This is having amazing effects on my meditation and lucid dreaming.

Given the location where the vibrating starts, and the seemingly psychedelic effects of this practice, I'm guessing the sound vibrations are stimulating the pineal gland to release hormones.

For me this is starting to seem to be an invaluable tool, and I bet it could be reproduced technologically with speakers and such. Anyone else have experience with vibrational chanting?
Oh my god. I do Tuvan throat singing all the time. Why have I never tried this? Thank you so much!

I just taught myself, sort of instinctually. I've always loved to play with my voice...I can throw my voice, speak with both sets of vocal chords, do the throat chanting/singing, and all manner of weird noises lol. I'm a strange girl, I know. Actually I learned how to gain full control over my voice/throat/diaphram through using a strong cough suppressant. It basically taught me everything I know about my voice, vibrations, and my chakras. But it all occurred instinctually. I didn't know about any of this stuff until after I had already taught it to myself. Which is pretty cool I think.

I've got my heart set on a Singing Bowl. I keep dreaming that I'm back in Bangkok and I'm shopping for bowls and they are really cheap lmao. Why do they have to be so expensive!!

I have been playing with my voice and I can produce vibration in my third eye. I guess what I would like is to have a point of reference i.e. a person or a device that I can check to see if or how many overtones i am producing at one time.

      Strange=variety/diversity=very cool.

By the way you don't necessarily have to buy a singin bowl to get a bowl. Just food for thought.

You can get anything buy, trade, find & gifting. And, two of those don't involve you really doing anythingYou're more likely to get the gift the more people know how much you love them. =0)

I'm familiar with khoomei.com, there's plenty of stuff to learn No better site can be recommended.
BTW. It's hard to throat sing and visualize at the same time, as both of these things require much of attention.

I've got a book on this.

It's called Tibetan Sound Healing by Tenzin. I'm still yet to acutally read it.

Come with a CD, I'd say with each of these sounds. I should really start reading again. I'm so lazy.

I don't know about vibrational chanting, but I do know that pineal gland is stimulated by certain frequencies, as well as other organs, like the heart and lungs. It's actually scientifically proven that music has an effect on the body.
