I'm not going to pretend that I'm a MoM (mind over matter) guru, but I do have some experience with it and some knowledge about it.

In this thread post any techniques/excersizes/practices/philosophies/ideas/thoughts about Mind over Matter.

What do you think about it? Do you have any experiences with it? Either directly or indirectly?

In my younger days I practiced taekwondo, kickboxing and a little muay thai. In conjunction with desensitizing nerve endings in the knuckles, elbows, knees, and chins I also practiced Mind over Matter, where I would be struck on the back, stomach, arms, and legs with a whip like bamboo branch and have to keep focused. I've got to the point now where any 'superficial' or flesh wounds didn't faze me. I still feel it, but it doesn't hurt. Cutting trauma, blunt trauma, burn trauma... all are easily handled now.

So there's my experience... mind over pain I guess.

Your turn.
