Woot! Great job Harelori. I hope you get some awesome avatar dreams soon! :D
I had two lucids today!
the first one was quite boring, didn't do anything special, but the second one :
I ran with my friends in a grassy field in a certain place, seemed like a trip at a farm or so, I ran and told my friends that this is a dream, while we were running I saw there's a fence , I told them "Look, I'll prove it's a dream!" then I talked myself into believing that that fence isn't real and I ran through it, I ran through a solid object :D
I did it 3 times, then I had a kung fu fight with some random girl I invented, afterwards I lost lucidity.
Oh and this night it was a total of two LDs and one dream, I'm happier then morning sun.
I'll try to keep you intact with my dreams and visit the forums as much as I can.
cheers,
Harelori ;)
:bravo:YEEEEAAAAHHHH! That's so cool. I think you are doing some really advanced stuff there. Whatever you're doing keep it up!:bravo:
Hhaha congrats! I looove kung fu fights in lucids, and even in nonlucids. I pretty much suck at anything martial art-y in real life so being able to flip and turn in the air and throwing punches feels really awesome. Great job!
Sadly, I'm getting lazier to write my dreams down as times goes by, I still haven't written the LD with the kung fu fight on paper, luckily I remember it perfectly, gonna write it tomorrow, I gotta stop being lazy! D:
And Ophelia, or anyoNE else, any tips for transformation?
I want to transform into a Dragon[, every night I imagine myself looking left (first person) then I can see a red wing (doesn't have to be red) with scales on it, I can breath fire, fly, burst fire from my nose and more

I want to go into Avatar mode, be able to visit the world of spirits, master all of the four elements completely, might use the help of the elders.

Due time and patience, I believe I'll be able to do all of these things, I heard patience is a virtue, I believe it's correct!
“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - that is patience.”
Oh and I've got a question:
How would you describe my LD level? (level as in rank, how good am I)
am I a rookie, an amateur, "semi professional" , good, great , incredible?
You may choose more than the following above, these were just examples ;)
Oh, and if you may, please tell me why you chose the "rank" that you've chosen., what should I work on too get better, what am I doing wrong, etc.
Btw, I'm still trying too do atleast 1 RC (the hand, finger counting RC) per day.
Untill next time,
Harelori :cloud:
Hey Harelori, I don't transform all that much in LDs. Just the gender thing but that's usually automatic hehe. I know oreoboy can turn into a dragon. But basically I'd say, when you're awake, imagine what transforming into a dragon in an LD would be like. That way you kinda have a template before going into your next LD. Another idea would be to try to find a dragon in an LD, then switch places. Good luck, and let us know when you get there!
Ps. I love that picture of Poseidon picking up litter :chuckle:
I understand the need to get an idea of what is normal. When I was having a dry spell I wanted to know that there was nothing wrong with me and that it just happens to people. The only cure was to continue and refine my routine and techniques while I wait it out.
Now, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think you are the only one who can answer this. It all depends on if you are meeting your personal goals and are finding ways to continue to become lucid. I think we all fluctuate a bit from time to time; dry spells, metal blocks, and so on. Much of our lucid dreaming ability is about self confidence and personal belief. You are at the level you believe you are. We all progress at different levels. To put labels on that may become too distracting and hinder progress. The more lucid dreams you have the more experience you get and the more you learn about yourself. So
This probably not a satisfying answer, but I am not sure it is helpful to define a LD level. I would not worry about that. And I would not worry about how fast you are progressing. You have your whole life to have lucid dreams so enjoy the ride.
Thank you both for commenting here, I notest that most times I come here before I go to sleep, I tend too get an LD, probably because I increase my awarness.
Anywho, I had an awesome LD today, I did some water bending fight with someone, tried to fly, I even saw a wave in the ocean coming, and I pulled the water up with my hands, and stopped the wave!
Afterwards, I wanted to fly, tried, nothing happend tho, it's the thought that counts!
I tried transforming, didn't happen aswell, if I keep trying, it'll eventually work I suppose!
I did manage to fly a bit eventually.
I tried diving, was pretty fun!
I'll detail it later.
Cheers,
Harelori :cloud:
Transforming is tricky if it doesn't come naturally. Perhaps finding an intermediary stage would help? For example: You could go into a transforming room...or use a transforming laser...Quote:
I want to transform into a Dragon[, every night I imagine myself looking left (first person) then I can see a red wing (doesn't have to be red) with scales on it, I can breath fire, fly, burst fire from my nose and more
Using straight willpower to exercise powers often creates a need for control of the content. Whereas if you use an indirect control, you can typically do more because you are giving your control to your unconscious mind. The unconscious mind operates at 40 million bits of data per second, whereas the conscious mind processes at only 40 bits per second. So you can see how putting more control into the subconscious during an LD will vastly improve your powers.
I had 2 LDs, one was 5 days ago and the second one was yesterday!
The oldest LD (5 days ago):
I manage to water bend a square of water out of a river in order to destroy something, afterwards I tried to fly, and instead managed to jump pretty high.
The chronological order of this LD that I rememberd was real messed up, anywho in the end I remember standing apparently in the air and I saw a cube that shined with a red color and had a mini tornado (horizontal) that was about 3~4 meters long.
I took the cube and it felt like I did something wrong, destroyed the balance in the universe or so.
The latest LD (Yesterday):
It was pretty short, anywho I managed to do my first summon, I summoned the fairies from the show "Fairly Odd Parents", the show's about a kid with no luck who gets two fairies that does everything he wants them too do, all he gotta do is say "I wish...." and it'll happen, with magic.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4014/...989b252dc2.jpg
I wanted too summon the two fairies so I'lll have a passive way of doing stuff.
I sat in a taxi and then I thought about summoning them do too what I wanted to do (wrote above this line) , after a couple of tries of looking at the back seat of the taxi ( I sat in the right seat in the front) they appeared, then I turned around too look forward then turned back and they were gone, it was pretty cool tho.
I also tried flying, and jumped real high.
Anywho, just wanted too let you know how I'm doing.
I also want too go into avatar mode plus later on possess the Avatar (master of all 4 elements) and possess him - kinda passive way too master all the 4 elements.
Cheers,
Harelori :cloud:
That is awesome Harelori!
Ive had 12 lucids so far and im just beginning to let go of the need for control in the dream. Whenever I did try to take over, the dream would just put me on my ass, lol...passive/indirect control is definitely more effective and will get you farther in a shorter amount of time. LDing is natural, so it seems to do whatever comes naturally. Totally awesome dreams! :D
Very nice, Harelori! Congratulations on the lucids. Nice display of skills, too! You're doing a lot of stuff that I want to pick up as I gather more experience.
And yet more motivation for me to finally watch some Avatar. :D All of you waterbenders are making me jealous!
Keep it up!
That's neat! Great job harelori :D
And yes, Canis, come to the dark side. We have cookies.
http://threelol.com/wp-content/uploa...ul-d4u71os.jpg
Thanks everyone!
I did notest one thing.
I'm not excited as I used too be once I find out I'm dreaming :/
I also want too try rubbing my hands together, but once i'm in the Lucid Dream I keep forgetting that I even wanted too do it, I guess the only explanation is that I don't want it enough!
I'm going too start doing more afternoon naps from now on!
P.S
My friend, who does LD himself and participates in the forums, told me, that one time, before he fell asleep he tried focusing on his blood that runs through his veins, and he told me he could've felt the blood moving inside of him all the way too the heart, he didn't feel lots of it, but he said it felt as if a pipe is being filled with water or so.
I think I'm going too try too focus on my body aswell, I usually tend too imagine me doing stuff I'd like too do in my Lucid Dreams in first person.
I tend too imagine that I look too my left and I can see my red huge wing, covered with scales (dragon) , breathing fire, punching the air and fire comes out of my fists (fire bending), hit the ground and do some earth bending stuff.
Oh and another question!
Should I try going through sleep paralysis?
I want too hear all the bad things, all the things that frightened so many people.
Inspite of that, I want too hear all the things that makes people do it! I want too hear all the good things and bad things, the pros and cons!
And if you tried it, please describe how it was, what you felt like, everything.
Cheers,
Harelori :cloud:
That's a really good thing. Excitement can ruin a LD faster than anything. On the other hand so can disinterest. I always try to maintain emotional balance.
I am not sure your motive but I only do this if the dream is fading. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.
That's sound very interesting. He should write a tutorial on it. I think any mental exercise like this can help. Be sure to tell us how it goes for you.
Technically you aren't supposed to "try" for sleep paralysis as that is not the real goal. However, it can be a great mile marker and I use it to my advantage when I can. You can try this: Jakob's Awesome WILD Technique This tutorial actually emphasizes SP as the initial goal. I have tried it and it worked for me a few times.
For me SP is like this:
First I feel intense tingles and vibrations all over my body but mostly in my head and upper body. Think of when a limb loses circulation and goes to sleep. It feels similar to the sensation you get when the blood flow returns and you get feeling back but without pain.
Next are the sounds. What I hear is a rushing sound like wind or waves over layed with a ringing in my ears.
(ask paigyemps what she hears. LOL)
Then Hallucinations. Sometimes you see things in the room. Sometimes you think you moved and realized you didn't. Trying to move is interesting. Sometimes if you roll you find your face on the floor but your feet glued in place. I usually imagine the sensation of my feet floating up over the side of the bed. When I feel the floor on my feet I am up and out of my "body".
Everyone if different. So you may not ever get SP. I suspect if you try WILD or DEILD you will know.
As long as your lack of excitement doesn't turn into a lack of engagement this shouldn't be a bad thing. I tend to get very excited when an LD begins, although over time I've learned to temper that. Even the thought of having an LD gets me excited, even in waking life!
If I had to summarize an ideal lucid dreaming mindset, I would say you want to feel a sense of calmness, deep satisfaction, confidence, and ambition. You want to be very content that you are in the lucid state yet also feel that this is what you were born to do.
Practicing your visualization skills is a great idea! You'll get better and better at this the more you do it. It's a huge boost to techniques like MILD and dream incubation, if you choose to pursue either of those.
I never experienced sleep paralysis when performing DEILD. There's so much variance here. As Xanous said, don't worry about it or even bother to look for it. If it happens, recognize it and don't be afraid, but don't treat it as some prerequisite that you must meet. It really isn't.
A couple of days ago I had another LD.
Canis, the past 4 months I didn't write any dream.
I have to admit, I'm disappointed in myself. I never thought I would be this lazy.
I suppose as time passed, I just kept on forgetting about it more and more.
Anywho, I haven't wrote about 5 LDs, I think I already forgot two (I think) completely, but I still remember three that I plan on sharing with you guys =D
The first one involves the show "Fairly Odd Parents" - I managed to summon Wanda and Cosmo for a minute (they grant wishes, they act like a ginie) that LD was quite short.
My brother was riding the car and I was sitting in the front seat next to him. I realized I was dreaming and I rememberd that I wanted to summon them.
I looked at the back seat of the taxi (the car we were in was a taxi) and it was empty.
I looked again and it was empty.
the third time I looked I saw Wanda's pink hair and Cosmo's green hair and I saw their wand, I didn't get to see their faces though. I looked away and then looked at the back seat once again and they were gone

The second LD started with me walking down the street, near my house.
I knew I was dreaming and I did a reality check, however just like most LDs, my common sense seems a little twisted.
In that LD I decided that I need to go to a certain neighborhood in order to start doing what I intented on doing (in the particular case it was doing justus from naruto).
I wanted to fly to that neighborhood, I tried, but I just managed to jump high.
I started feeling my body in real life so I knew my LD was coming to an end, sadly I didn't manage to complete any dream goal I had.
I can't seem to recall the third LD :/
The fourth LD happend recently, a couple of days ago I decided that in order to have a converstaion topic with my lucid dreaming buddy I must have an LD.
In that night I just kept telling myself "today I will have a LUCID DREAM!", when I woke up I realized I didn't have a lucid dream.
But I didn't give up. I got back to sleep since it was still quite early, I kept telling myself "I WILL HAVE A LUCID DREAM" and guess what? I did have one :]
I was conscious the whole process.
Since I was so hung up on the idea of having a lucid dream I remained conscious, after a while - my body started feeling heavy as if suddenly I could feel the gravity or so,
then my ears started hurting a little bit and I heart an awful static noise. I started thinking about what if this is sleep paralysis? should I move and destroy it?
by what my brother told me it's an awful experiment, it's scary, I'll be hopeless once i'm in it and it may cause future nightmares.
Then I gathered my courage and thought "Even if it is scary, I will have to face it sooner or later, it's just an illusion that can cause no harm, I'll face it with my head high and I will hold no regrets".
Who knows, perhaps I did experience a sleep paralysis, perhaps I did not, the main idea I didn't stop because of it.
Afterwards I entered a dream. I felt my real body so even though I was conscious it wasn't a lucid dream yet.
I kept exiting and entering the dream (2 times- entered, exit , entered , exit).
I didn't move a single part of my body because I know that if I'd try to move it in the dream, it would move my real life body as well.
Few seconds later, I managed to do a reality check and I was sure that it was a dream (better be safe than sorry),
I took a swimmer pose and I decided to try and jump through the wall. it faild. I tried giving a punch to the wall (didn't hurt) then I gave it a light kick and my foot hurt, just like in real life.
That is all there is to it, with school and study, the stress is affecting my dreams (less dreams, shorter).
Glad to keep you updated, feels good to be back.
Cheers,
Harelori:cloud:
P.S
I'm going to start writing my dreams in my dream journal once again!

Hey, don't beat yourself up too much! You were busy, you still got lucid, and most importantly, you came back to start things up again. We're glad to have you back!
That's awesome. :) Mantras always feel a little strange to me, but when you put your will, intent and belief behind them they work. It's amazing.
Now that you've seen how powerful this is (and what you're capable of), I would definitely add this techinique to your repertoire! I've been using a mantra for the past few nights and I've been loving it. Great for focusing the mind. And at some point, you realize that because I believe this, it will happen. This further justifies your belief, which further solidifies your confidence.
Once you understand that the mantra will work, it creates a virtuous cycle that will really boost your confidence.
That's exactly the right attitude to have. Ultimately, you know that there's nothing to be afraid of. You may never even experience SP -- I certainly never have. Put it out of your mind, knowing that you are ready to deal with it if by some chance it ever does occur some night.
Fear so often holds us back from realizing our full potential. Congratulations on overcoming this! LDing is all about conquering the limitations that we set for ourselves, and irrational fear is the backstop to most of them. :goodjob2:
And it's great to have you back. You'll always be welcome, even if you need time off.
Good luck with managing the stress. My best advice is to do your best to set those concerns aside as you prepare for bed. Try to make your sleep time a sanctuary so that you can rest and recover safe from the cares of the day and let your dream life reach its full potential.
