Hey n00b! Welcome to DVA :)
You know, recurring FA's are an excellent chance to attain lucidity. Just remember to do those reality checks upon waking up. Whether in the morning or if you wake up on and off during the night. My best LD's have been through a successful identification of a FA while I was having said FA.
Feel free to take a look at my workbook if you're not sure what to post. It's linked in my signature and also the Intro Class subforum.
I saw your goal. You might try the Summoning Tutorial and Dream Control Tutorial. I think both might help with your goals.

That's the first tutorial link I've ever seen with a :D in it.
Oh wow, it works anyhow
Yeah, I saw that and wondered about the smiley myself. I had to check it as well.
Weird.
Anyway, noob, check out the link!
As Ophelia said, FAs are amazing. My most vivid lucid dreams were ones triggered by realising a false awakening and it's one of the easiest ways to become lucid, in my opinion. Just need to remember to reality check each time you wake up!
Thanks for all the replies! I will be starting RCs when I wake up, and my dream control is pretty good except my lucid count is not so that's what I will be working on the most
Hey n00b. Have you had any FAs recently? How's the quest for lucidity going? How's your awareness? Any interesting dreams?
No FAs recently, those normally happened when I was going to school. Since it's summer I've lost a bit of awareness, but I'm doing my best to get it back up, will be trying a WILD WBTB tonight. And yes I have an interest in my dreams, they're so weird it's cool. Why do people refer to me as a n00b?
Hm, I wonder.
Your awareness decreased after school ended? I'm a bit surprised. I know a lot of people look forward to breaks from school to focus more on LDing.
I asked if you had interesting dreams lately, not if you had an interest in dreams. Of course you are interested in dreams, you wouldn't be here otherwise. I figured that I would ask about your recent dreams, since I haven't seen any recent DJ entries from you.
Hope your WBTB/WILD was successful last night. :)
Oh I just write them in my RL DJ. And my wbtb failed as my alarm was loud as crap, yet did not wake me up but I believe I got SP when I woke up, but nothing happened :\. Will try again tonight. And on breaks I just forget to do a lot of RCs.
edit - also I had a partial lucid last night, I asked my history teacher if we were dreaming and he told me no but in the back of my head I knew we were
That's great, n00b! If only you had decided to take control. That's progress though, and that's always encouraging. :) Did anything tip you off that you were dreaming? How did you realize it?
Well it's sort of inappropriate but I had my thing out and it was on the projector , and also I cannot wake up from alarms any more, I had it full volume, yet it did not wake me up, or it did but I didn't remember, which I would of. And Ophelia soon enough I'll put my dreams in there, I have to write them right away or else I forget them, only to remember them when I cannot write them down, my life, is a sad one indeed
Ahahahahaha, that's a big hint then, yeah. I wouldn't say it's inappropriate though. It's just a dream.
n00b, I'm pretty similar with alarms. I sleep like a rock. I set my phone to go off a bunch of times, and that tends to work. However, I like to experiment with how my phone will affect my dreams. I had my phone on vibrate once, and when it was vibrating, there was an earthquake in my dream. Other times it'll feel like my dream reset. Some of the events will be exactly the same, some will be different. Sometimes that helps me be more aware in the dream. As a heavy sleeper, I find the effect my phone alarm has in my dreams to be interesting. Though the repeat of events and the differing conclusions can be confusing.
Sounds cool I will try that, I had like 4 or 5 dreams last night and my alarm finally woke me up but I was too distracted by the loud noise to attempt a WILD... I will try just putting it on vibrate random times throughout the night
Oh shit totally forgot, I don't even know if the 4s has vibrate or where'll I'll put it for that matter, I guess just right by my arm or something
had a lucid last night, only lasted like 4 seconds. My finger went through my hand so I tried my other hand and it didn't and for some reason my nose was clogged up so I couldn't even press down on it to breath out, lost lucidity after that
:D Good job, n00b! I guess it was a DILD? It's been less than a week since your semi-LD, that shows significant progress. Unfortunate that you lost lucidity, but I'm sure if you keep working hard, you'll get another LD within the week!
Yes It was a DILD, and I tried the vibrate thing, that might have been it but when I woke up, my phone was dead so I'm not entirely sure. Tomorrow night I'll try a WILD wbtb, and I hope I get 1 this week :P
Congrats on the DILD n00b! Like Caenis said, it's progress from the last one that was a semi-lucid. And quick progress too!
Keep doing what you're doing, because it's working! And good luck on the next WBTB :)
Thanks, I'll be doing that tonight, probably gonna go to bed in an hour or so
edit - my alarm failed to wake me again, I will try making it full volume and changing it to the alarm that scares me awake ( the default iphone one)
Time to actually put something in my workbook, I have *been practicing awareness a lot recently, probably around 30 mins total over the span of a day (yesterday) and maybe like 20 minutes today. I often get that "hey become aware now" thought in my head, but it's very hard to keep up the full awareness for me, any tips on that or is it just practice practice practice?
Well practice definitely has alot to do with it. Also self discipline. We have alot of distractions throughout the hustle and bustle of the day, but the longer you focus on it, the more regular it will become.
I personally look at the clock alot (probably more than the average bear I'd say), so I make myself increase awareness whenever I look at it. Maybe something like that would help you too, although 20-30 minutes a day is really good in my opinion!
Alright thanks, normally (not always) when I look at my phone I do the clock check but after that I don't really think of it, my awareness goes away in like 20 seconds. But I will be working on my awareness all summer, hopefully to go back to school having 3 lucids a week or 10 a month (my goal)
Alright, sounds like a good plan to me :)
I could stand to tweak my awareness a bit myself. Especially during my long work shifts when I'm more easily distracted.
Ok set my wallpaper and it says RC so that should help, i'm going to try a wbtb wild tonight, is 4 1/2 or 6 hrs better, or are they both sort of the same
Good idea with the RC wallpaper!
And I find 6-7 hours works better for my WBTB, though it is different for everybody.
Ok thanks I will try 6 hrs, when I did 4 1/2 I was way too tired. I am also starting meditation at night for 10-20 minutes
edit - bought etwold
Ok trying out b6 tonight with a 5 1/2hr wbtb, will post results tomorrow
How did the b6 + WBTB work?
Or wait, you might still be sleeping in, sorry.
OpheliaBlue tiptoes away and quietly shuts the door..
No I was at soccer :P. I had some 5-htp like 6 hrs before sleep and the B6 ~5 hrs or so into sleep. To my surprise I had no dreams recalled which sucks. Might have just been from the 5htp and the 7hrs of sleep. I'll try B6 again tonight ~5 1/2 hrs of sleep with no 5-htp. Will also be trying 200mg instead of 100mg
5htp six hours before sleep? Wouldn't the 5htp be a lot less effective by the time you sleep? Perhaps I'm wrong, but I try to take any vitamins/supplements shortly before I fall asleep, usually less than an hour before I head to bed.
Sorry that your dream recall dropped. Sometimes if a WBTB doesn't agree with me, I won't remember much of my dreams. Oddly enough, a good WBTB time seems to be 3.5-4 hours after I initially fall asleep. Just keep playing with the time and see if you can find what's right for you.
So you've been doing meditation too? I've heard good things about it, let us know if it helps you with LDing!
Awww no recalled dreams? I'm sorry. Different supplements work different for everybody, although sometimes it does take a while to build up in your system. But whatever your try, and more specifically, what ever you find that does work, remember that your body can build up a resistance to it. So it's good that you're practicing your WBTB method on top of it. It's good to build up a strong method or 2.
Better luck tonight!
I think it was from the 5-htp. 200mg tonight without 5htp. I will be able to sleep in so I'm gonna go to bed a 12 and wake up at 7 I guess and take it then. I have been reading ETWOLD and I feel like I am going to lucid tonight, I am suddenly more aware after reading it.. 80 pages down in 1 day
Results : 5 dreams and like 2 frags
ooh good job! that's not bad at all. keep it up! :D
Thanks, im away for a week so I won't be on much
Have fun on vacation. :) Don't forget your DJ!
Thanks, i will be using hand towels as paper lololol. I also am getting better at MILDs
See you soon, have fun!
Thanks, I believe I had a lucid last night. It was just plain darkness and knew I was dreaming for whatever reason. I have been having a lot more dreams where I associated them with lucids but I was not lucid. Sorry if thats confusing. Also, do you guys know any MILD exercises besides the ones in ETWOLD, cheers
Insane lucid last night, was around 5-10 minutes and it was perfect. I flew around, felt the wind, banged some girls, listened in, closed my eyes and didn't wake up, summon, was awesome!
