eMCLucid's Workbook
Preferred reality check is plugging my nose, along with looking at my hands.
A recurring dream sign that I've noticed as of late is being in a massive, unfamiliar structure. Often, the buildings I'm in are futuristic and "glossy" (if that makes sense).
Accomplished dream goals:
[x] Attain lucidity in a dream
[x] Fly
[x] Spin to stabilize a lucid dream
[x] Manifest a DC
Current dream goals:
[ ] Conjure and throw a fireball
[ ] Visit outer space
[ ] Use telekinesis
All four of my lucids to date have been DILDs, but I've been working on the CAN-WILD and FILD techniques as of the last few days, with little success.

Hey Jesse! Welcome to the class!
Oooh, and that is a weird but cool dream sign. I read that you have a physical journal. Have you ever tried drawing these futuristic buildings in it? I also have some weird objects in my dreams, and I find it helpful to draw some of them in my written DJ. It helps me remember how they looked like, instead of just using words to describe them.
Anyway, good luck on your goals.
Check out the links and resources compilation on the main class thread, it has some pretty useful stuff :D We also have chats scheduled, where you can ask or answer questions, as well as interact with the other students in a live setting. We hope you can attend some (or all ;) ) of them!
Happy dreaming~

Thanks for the feedback! The newfound motivation from this class may have worked already, I had a lucid last night! It wasn't long, I'll describe how it happened on here and the actual dream in my DJ.
This was my first non-DILD lucid dream! I used what can be described as the CAN-FILD method. I set an event in my iPhone instead of an alarm, with a single zen chime as the notification. By doing this, I made sure that I would not have to move to turn off the alarm. Anyway, it went off, and I woke up in sleep paralysis. I did not open my eyes, and tried to focus on breathing and going into a dream. However, since this was the first time I felt the experience of complete sleep paralysis, I was excited and my mind kept focusing on the "pressure" sensation on my body. Sure enough, I began to slip out of sleep paralysis. Still very tired, I started trying the FILD (finger induced lucid dream) method where I'd focus on very slight movement of my two fingers. After a very short amount of time, I did a reality check (plugged my nose and tried to breath) and sure enough, I was dreaming!

Well done!! :D Congratulations! Looking forward to reading your DJ :)

2nd Lucid in a row last night! Regular DILD, after a failed FILD attempt earlier.
-
I'm posting new goals, my original ones were not grabbing my attention in lucids enough.
Weekly goals:
[ ] Touch something within the dream
[ ] Speak with my dream guide
Monthly goals:
[ ] Fight in a medieval battle
[ ] Play a show in front of a large crowd
[ ] Have a 15 minute long lucid dream

Well done! Congrats on the lucid :3 And nice goals you got there as well. Keep it up!
-
Hey EMCLucid, congrats on the second LD! :D Keep up the good work. Two LDs in two days is vey encouraging.

Sadly, I did not continue the streak last night. However, in my MILD attempt, I repeated "I want to find my dream guide" when I went to bed. I wasn't lucid, but I noticed a certain, unfamiliar girl was with me (not sexually, more like a companion) throughout multiple dreams. Could this have been a dream guide? I am very eager to speak to a dream guide in a lucid dream, the idea of communicating directly with one's subconscious is so intriguing!
-
Oooh nice. That's one of my goals as well -- to meet my dream guide. I had a dream once where a Jamaican-looking dude kept reminding me to stabilize every few seconds, so the dream wouldn't fall apart. He might have been my DG, but I never saw him again. So far. Anyway, good luck on finding yours! :)
-
Repeat your mantras again tonight, eMCLucid, and see if she appears again! Though I believe you don't need to have a DG to talk to your subconscious. Theoretically any DC should be part of your subconscious. I think some people even used an object to ask their subconscious questions--I've read about someone using a magic 8 ball to receive answers from their subconscious. Have fun with it, however you manage to do it!

Had what some would describe as a Layer 1 Minor lucid dream last night, in which I used the FILD method, but somehow didn't fully grasp lucidity. I did, however, explain the basics of lucid dreaming to a female dream character for the remainder of the dream. Hoping for actual lucidity tonight!
I am also posting some weekly goals to get off on a good foot this week!
[ x ] Have at least one lucid dream.
[ ] Touch something to stabilize a dream.
Goal of the Week!
[ ] Have a conversation with my dream guide or my Anima.

Had 2 lucids last night, maybe more that I didn't remember! Check out my dream journal if you want to read about them, sadly I didn't write them down because I was practicing DEILD but I remember quite a bit anyway!
-
Well done on the lucids! It's really cool that the SSILD technique is working for folks.
And sexy time is always a good time :) Good job being able to phase into another LD!

Awwww. Hoping for lucids for both of us then! :D And that's alright, we all have sucky recall days ;) I hope it gets better soon.

Just a thought: August is coming up! Why don't you create a list of personal lucid goals you would like to achieve this month? It can help motivate you and put you in a better mindset to get lucid sooner! Good luck.
