Reality Checks
I have been using a combination of the nose plug,
trying to push my fingers through my palm and reading text.
I generally do an RC whenever I feel the slightest bit of confusion, e.g when I'm on the bus and have traveled further than I though.
I have also found a few dream signs in my dream journal that I use to prompt an RC;
Dream signs
The first and most prominent dream sign is the appearance of playing cards (poker cards) in my dreams.
During the day I like to practice sleight of hand with cards when I get bored, so cards are always on my person.
In dreams I have noticed on many occasion, I will be playing with cards and do a riffle shuffle. Now whenever I take my cards
out, or change the trick I am doing I always perform the nose plug RC.
UPDATE!
Buses also seem to be a reoccurring feature in my dreams. Luckily this is fairly easy incorporate RC's into, ill just RC when I get on and off buses (the off part is important as I've noticed that in many dreams, the dream seems to begin on the bus)
Why I want to lucid dream
The main reason that I want to lucid dream is just to experience what it would be like to control the environment I am in (And yeah I know dream control is different to Lucid dreaming).
Some of the things I really would like to do include:
Flying (cliche but still amazing)
Consciously create an entire ant colony and imagine every ant at once
create a city densely populated by DC's. I want the city to look similar to Morocco in terms of decor, don't know why, but it would be cool.
Have a persistent LD (a dream I can come back to when ever I want)
Oooh that's an interesting dream sign! I don't think I've dreamed about playing cards, or maybe i just forgot haha. But cool!
