Fuz's Workbook
Hi the names Daniel and I've only been trying lucid dreaming since Saturday and with each day I've gotten more and more excited about having a lucid dream and I feel I should start with DILDS because they suit me personally.
I pretty much have a good dream recall but it can vary, for example one night I remembered 4 dreams and in two of them I was talking about lucid dreaming, another dream was quite vague and could only remember fragments. (I write in my DJ everday, even if I can't remember a dream.)
I have been practicing ADA/SAT, doing reality checks and questioning if I am actually in a dream on a regular basis so that it can carry over into my dreams and have been doing mantras in my head whilst going to sleep eg: "Tonight I will become aware in my dreams". I will keep you updated on my progress to becoming lucid and I am wondering if are there any other tips and techniques I could use which could improve the chances of becoming lucid? Or is there improvements needed in the way I carry out the techniques?

Hey there, welcome to the class!
Definitely hold on to that excitement. Motivation is the ultimate key to lucid dreaming. If you can get a goal to achieve in a lucid dream that really gives you that butterflies-in-stomach feeling, that's great.
Dream recall can be pretty sporadic and delicate, I've found the best way to stabilise it is to make sure you go to bed and wake up at the same times every day and dedicate a good 10-15 minutes before bed just setting your intention on dream recall and lucidity.
Apart from ADA/SAT, I would recommend self-awareness. Even something simple like questioning "What was I doing 10 minutes ago? What am I doing now? What am I going to be doing in 10 minutes?" and asking yourself if it's all logical.
I didn't see any mention of a WBTB, have you practiced that at all? Even a short one can double your chances of having a lucid dream if you couple it with some MILD techniques.

Hi there! :welcome:
RareCola pretty much said it all very well. Setting some goals, even really simple ones like fly, or talk to a DC can be very helpful and motivating. It really gives you something to look forward to, rather than just hoping to have a lucid dream. It can also give you something to do once you get lucid, and that way, you don't waste precious lucid moments panicking about what to do ;)
And I agree, you should definitely try out WBTB!
Good luck, and happy dreaming

Me again :P
No lucid dream last night but I had two very vivid dreams and the second one was one of the most vivid dreams I've had (I was looking at my iPod screen and it looked different but it looked as real as reality) I wasn't aware that I was dreaming but it was very realistic. I should of realized it was a dream tbh because in the address bar in safari all my entered addresses were random letters xD
One of the other questions I want to ask is am I close to having a lucid because most of my dreams are in first person now rather than third person (seeing the dream with me in it as if I was watching a movie that I'm starring in)
I have tried WBTB but only if I wake up naturally because I don't really have the time to do it because of school :( I havn't had success with this yet but will keep trying and I am still working hard on all of the other techniques that I am using.
Well tonight's lucid dream attempt no. 6 and I'm still very excited and motivated to have one even though I know it could be weeks to months.
I have already set myself some goals and they are to talk to a DC and to try flying which I heard can be hard for beginners? My other goal is to stabilize my dream by becoming involved with the dream and using my senses so that the dream doesn't fade... Wish me luck! :D

Your Homework For Lesson I is to:
Start your own workbook thread in this subforum. DONE
Start a Dream Journal and record each dream. DONE
Record the times that you naturally go to bed and wake-up, and list it in your workbook.
School nights: 10:30PM - 7:30AM Weekend/Holidays: 12-1AM - 9-11AM DONE
Do reality checks whenever you experience something weird throughout the day, and list it in your workbook. DONE
Write a list for why you want to lucid dream (for motivation), and plan out what you want to do in your next lucid dream.
I want to lucid dream because it is fascinating, I can do things that cannot be done in reality and you can use senses like in real life.
In my next lucid dream I will attempt to stabilize the dream so that I don't lose it and I will attempt to talk to a DC or summon one. DONE
Establish a night-time routine (Include reading your dream journal, making sure to leave your DJ open to a blank page for quicker dictations).
In my night-time routine I do meditation before bed and do a mantra as I am falling to sleep as in my first post. DONE

Looking good, although I would keep the same going to bed and waking up time even over the weekends. I know it's not fun to go to bed early and wake up early on the weekends, but a stable sleep schedule really helps with lucidity!
