Hi there :) ..I've been always interested in dreams before and to be honest I also try to get in control of myself in my dreams (no techniques) just like keep on telling my mind to have the awareness when I'm dreaming but there is no result for that :P..There's when I got to know about the LD maybe just a month ago..I can honestly says that I'm the beginner of the beginner..But I'm really eager to learn more about LD and hopefully with a help from you all and patience..I'll also experience my own LDs :D

Hopefully I'm doing this right..

My Reality Check :
spinning the ring at my thumb
pushing hand through solid object (mirror,wall)
Try to do the all day awareness techniques :)

My Dreams Sign :
All about the dream (cannot spot one for now) except that my dreams usually colorless or black and white.

My Short Term Goal :
Success in dream recall (to record one or more dreams every day)
Getting more awareness in daily life
Try to be lucid with the DILDs techniques

My Long Term Goal :
To have LDs every night :D
Exploring and learn more about the world of dreams

My Dream Recall History :
Trying my best to record any dreams that I have even if a short one..But sometimes my dreams mix up with my reality..Its like I'm half awake/sleeping where I am dreaming but for the same time I realize that I'm on my bed sleeping..So it really hard for me to differ between my real dreams or the imagination that lead me to sleep :(

My Techniques :
for now I'm focusing with my dream recall and try to fill up my dream journal :)

Every advice will be much appreciated and thanks in advance :D

I'm actually very glad to see this. As you delve further into lucid dreaming, you'll spend more time thinking about and exploring this borderland between waking and sleeping. What you will discover is that many of those times that you thought you were awake in your bed, you were actually dreaming.

When you experience your first recognized false awakening, the realism of it will probably shock you. But false awakenings are one of many excellent gateways to a bonified lucid dream and I'm glad to see that you're already beginning to explore these transition phases between waking and sleeping. They are extremely fertile ground for lucid dreams.

OMG! You are almost doing WILD. Next time keep going with the dream until it feels real. It's hard to tell you when but you will know it when it happens. Visualize yourself interacting with the environment in very simple ways while holding self awareness. Never force anything. Just go with the flow of the dream as you do this. You will be in a lucid dream in no time.

I'm really glad that there is a DV academy over here..With the ongoing classes to help beginner like me and all the helpful advice from the dedicated more experiences lucid dreamers..
To explain it more..In half asleep I dreaming of talking with a bunch of people and half awakened I realize that I'm sleeping on my bed..But still I can hear all of the noises and people chattering in indistinct voices inside my mind..Comes and goes from awakening to dreaming and back to awakening and it happen repetitively..I keep on reminding my mind that I'm on my bed sleeping but it keeps on continuously..I feel blurry because its like I'm stuck between awakening and the transaction to sleep with the dreams in between..
Its feel so real that I can feel that I'm rolling on my bed but still with all the voices in my ear and visual in my mind..What should I do when I'm facing with this situation?
I think I'll go with Xanous advice it just I don't really understand by going with the flow :P

Hi LonelyBeliever! :welcome:

From what I understand, you are saying that you're kind of awake while the dream starts to form slowly in your mind, is that correct? If so, I agree with Xanous, that could be very advantageous for a WILD. We're not pressuring you to pursue WILDs instead of DILDs, but if ever that thing happens again, you can try continuing with the dream. What I mean to say is that when you notice the dream taking form on its own, go along with it! Don't try to stop it or wake yourself up. Focus on the dream that is forming, and try not to pay attention or even think about your physical body or you can end up waking up. Hopefully you will enter the dream, and then you can do a reality check to make sure. Voila!

One tip I can give you, as early as now, is to practice doing reality checks everytime you wake up, no matter where you are. This can help you achieve lucidity whenever you get false awakenings where you think you woke up in bed, when it's actually still a dream.

Yes, I agree with paigeyemps.

When I said, go with the flow, I meant don't try and force a dream scene. try to slowly and carefully interact with the dream so that you forget your physical body. Hopefully you will be able to tease the dream into becomeing more solid.

If you are wondering how do you know when the dream has formed. I can't answer that for you. the knowing comes with practice.

The RCs are a great idea but I should mention that, for me, if I do an RC in this half dream state they don't really prove anything to me. RCs happen like they are suppsosed to but I'm still in a half dream. But deffifitley always RC if you wake up or think you woke up, especially after this kind of experience. I forget this all the time unfortunately.

I hope that helps. Its really hard to explain all this and you may have to find your own way but the general idea is always the same.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes. This may be THE method for you as it seems to come naturally. Of course, like paigey said, don't feel like you have to WILD right away. DILDs are a great way to start out too.

You may be detecting a certain sense of excitement in these replies. There's good reason for that. This awareness you have of the transition phase between wakefulness and sleep isn't something that occurs naturally for everybody. Many (if not most) have to work to develop it over time so you have a great tool to start working with.

Forming a habit (or attempting to) of reality checking when you wake is a great idea. I can practically guarantee that at least some of those times when you thought you were awake, you were actually dreaming in a false awakening state. I think you'll soon discover for yourself how realistic these can be.

Anyhow, you'll have a lot to explore as you move forward, so don't feel like you need to be in any rush. Opportunities are everywhere for you right now. Enjoy the journey.

To be honest I feel a little bit of scared before..I thought that my situation is because of hallucination or some kind of sleep disorder..I've never known that this so called WILD is gonna be something like this..But thanks for all the good advises it helps me a lot..To learn and understand more and maybe to take advantages when the same situation occur..In all this time what I've done is to wake myself up..Now I know what I'm supposed to do..Try to accept it and go with the flow..Hopefully if I open up my mind..Everything will be much clearer to me..Not without a practice tho..I'll gladly share it will all of you if I already success in doing so :D

Yeah I'm working hard with my RC (its hard to remind myself sometimes :P ) but for now I'm looking up for an RC that will suits me best..I like the questioning the reality method and do the RC after that..I'm also trying to build up my self awareness more..Even for the smallest details..If the world is already amazing as it is..I guess that the world of dreams will be much more awesome to explore :D

You know, something similar used to happen to me when I would take naps in college. I would line up chairs in one of the practice rooms, but I would leave the TV on a blank screen so people would know someone was in there and not disturb me. I would still get a little paranoid that someone would barge in and disturb me. So I would drift in and out of sleep, because I thought I heard people come into the room and talk. I could still feel myself lying down, and I thought I was awake, but I could still hear voices. This would jolt me all the way awake, and I would sit up, but no one was there. Anyway, what I'm getting at is, I believe those voices are what's called hypnogogic hallucinations, or HH. It's normal to experience this or other weird shit when transitioning between awake and dreams, or vice versa. Next time this happens, you could try getting up out of bed, because you may find yourself in a dream already!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one..But to be honest this situation never occur to me when I'm taking my day naps..It just happen sometimes at night and usually during my work days..I get a really good sleeps when I'm off..But because of all the advises I get..I'll try to go along with it next time (HH can be scary) and hopefully just as you says when I try to wake up..I may find myself in dreams~
As I didn't want to rely much with the WILD because I think that I should familiarize myself with it more..I'm focusing with my dream recall and RC so I can do the DILD too and get more chance/alternative to be lucid :D

So my sleep routine during my work day started from 8pm to 4.30am..But for most of the time I'm too excited to get lucid I end up rolling on my bed until 10 or 11pm..Usually I can get a 2 or 3 hour naps during day time and a really good dreams too..During off days I can sleep at 1 or 2 am until 8am..Without much difficulties I'm already asleep less then 5 minutes lying on the bed :lol: its nice because I can get lots of dreams and fill up my dream journal~

I can only updating my workbook for now..but later on during my off days I will take the chance to read more in this sites..Specially there is a lots of interesting dream journals, others workbooks, forums..Feels like I'm drowning in the sea of information about the lucid dreams :)

Its raining last night and I toke the opportunity to have an early sleep at 8.30pm..Lying on my bed and just empty my mind..Closing my eyes..Listen to the sound of the rain..Suddenly I saw two guys in front of me..Just from head until the waist..cannot recognize the face..But both of them wearing like some kind of blazer..More like a twin..One of them says that he is my brother and don't know why I shouted to the guy saying that he is not my brother..That is when I awake still lying on my bed..Closing my eyes again..Took me a while before I realize that I'm in the middle of an empty space..gloomy and there's nothing there..Not even an object, sky or ground..Just like a void..I touch my left ear (there is a cross earring there..I used it as my RC..I like to touch it and feels the cross structure when I got up or before going to sleep) but I cannot feel it there..Shocked I look around and under my feet..Worried that I drop it and lost it somewhere..Again I awakened on my bed..Touching my left ear..I can feel the cross is still over there :)

Wow that sounds like a chain of false awakenings! :D It's good that you remembered to reality check with the cross in your ear ;D Really close!

Great, great stuff. You are all over that gray area between sleep and wakefulness where so many lucid dreams are born.

I agree with Paige -- the fact that you remembered to perform the RC is a great sign! This is something I still slip up on all the time so it's good that you were able to keep the presence of mind to do that even when you were so sure that you weren't dreaming.

As I emerged more and more with the knowledge about the world of dreams..I'm very interested with the dreams itself and of course to get lucid..But I know patience is the key..Nothing is gained without anything is done right? :)

Yeah I try to do my RC as often as I can (missed it sometimes too) plus RCC for WILDing..Filled up my dream journal..I'll try to write a dream journal of my own and share it if I can..And maybe try to do the WBTB on my off days..either DILD or WILD..I'm aiming to learn it all..Started the engine and now keep on rollin' :lol:

Hmm~ Apart from the daily dreams recall and RC plus RRC (not RCC my bad :P) I'm supposed to list down the reason for me to be lucid for the motivation yay~

First thing first..I just want to find a bench or sit on the side ways..Being a bystander and just watch how the DCs act on their own and observe the dreams world itself. Its unique how they ended up in your dreams even if you just catch a glimpse of their image in the real life..And yeah the dreams themes..It can be your craziest dreams ever..
Maybe I can ask the DCs what they think of myself..Surely me will be honest with myself right? :)

I want to fly too~ I always dreams of flying when I'm still in a primary school..But as I getting older..It become harder and harder for me to fly in dreams..And I've never dreams of flying any more..It will brings up memories if I can fly in dreams again..But this time for sure..The dreams world will be mine to explore..Believe me I can fly~

There is a time when I woke up from a normal dreams..I'll ask myself..What if I do that? or What if I go there? So many opportunity has been waste..So many moment has been left behind..Lucidity is my ticket to explore my own dreams world..Playing with the complexity of my own mind.. Unveiling hidden messages or just becoming a free traveller..Discovering the journey that the dreams is offering each and every night~

Of course I want to do lots of impossible things that is "normal" in dreams..I can list hundreds of it..But I wish to make my own version of dreams..Where I can revisit it so many times and build it from a scratch..Into one complete wonderdreams~ Weird enough..It sound logical with dreams~

LonelyBeliever, Welcome! Im a bit late into the conversation but perhaps I can add something!

Your desire to fly is something I share as well. Most of my lucids involve flying in some way. Its very important to go to sleep with something in mind that you want to do when you are dreaming.
Mnemonic Devices are especially good with creating dreams like that. You would probably end up flying in your non-lucid dreams before the lucid dreams but then again perhaps it could trigger lucidity.
Intending to do that while lucid dreaming can be effective if you have a good imagination because the visualizations are typically better.
Anyway, good luck on the flying, it can be tricky the first few times around. :)

It's been a while :)

Been busy with my work and yeah its hard for me to update my workbook specially with a bad line connection at my work place (somewhere in the mountain)
Can only do this during my off days :D

I've been filling in my dreams journal for now..Working on with the dreams recall and RC + RRC everyday..Aiming maybe to record more than 1 dreams per night and at least minimum of 10 RCs per day..But discipline has never been my advantages before..So I'm working at it as well..Every night is a believe that its gonna be my lucid dreams~

Yesterday I'm sleeping around 1am..Closing my eyes just try to rest..Before I realized that its the void world again..I'm levitating and I saw something in the middle of the dark gloomy world..Its like an orb..Pulsing like the jelly fish..Can't hold on to my urge I reach out my hand..Touching the orb..With a spark and sudden feel of electricity..I drop down below..Splash in the water and slowly drowning in the darkness..That is where I open up my eyes and I'm still on my bed..I can see the ray of the sunlight through the window..I also catch a glimpse of someone/thing at the middle of the room..Before I can do anything..Its feels like my bad is rocking up and down..Rolling left and right just like riding a roller-coaster..All I remember is the feeling of wanted to throw up so much..Opened my eyes again..I'm still on my bed but this time for real..

That is some amazing experience LonelyBeliever! Every experience is a growing experience. This will definitely help you down the road as you have more of these kinds of experiences. It seems you already have it down pretty well, just remember relaxation. Its very important in any dream situation. Right now, it might seems a bit chaotic and uncontrollable. In the future, however, these will be side shows on the way to lucidity.
Keep up what you are doing and im sure you will be flying real soon. :)

As I learn more and more about the lucid dreams..Every night and sleeps..dreams..recalling..awareness.. Journalling
has been a good experience for me..Its like playing RPG where everyday is a chance for me to get a better experience and push myself to get a higher level in my life..I'm enjoying the ride haha..

I'm also interested with the polyphasic sleep and practising the Siesta for now..A good sleep for 6 hour at night and 20 to 30 minutes of nap during the day..Usually I also try to attempt doing WILD during this nap time :D

I can't agree less with you by the relaxation that you mentioned before..Specially during the WILD..Eyes flickering..Increasing heart rate and the feeling of sinking heavily on the bed..I'll try to be more relaxing..Even if its feel bumpy at times..I believe that I can go through it all and yeah..The sky of dreams is mine :lol:

DILD

Still focusing with the recalling and dreams journalism..RC+RRC and awareness training..Its been almost a month now but so far still haven't found the eureka moment in dreams..Hard to remember dreams sometimes (almost like there is no dreams) but will keep the effort for that..I will also try to include the MILD for the DILD :)

WILD

Already experience the eyes flickering..body sinking/numbness..But no hypnogogic sound/imagery..Usually end up into non lucid dreams..Another variation while attempting WILD is the same situation happened before..I can see a bunch of people talking..lots of indistinct voices..feels like I'm doing something but not really sure..Realize I'm still on my bed and do my RC..but when I close my eyes feels like I'm at somewhere else with the blurry images of peoples and voices..I try to make sure that its not a daydreams and I'm sure that all of it played by its own without any input from me..
I think the explanations is I'm still in the hpnogogic states without SP and still didn't transact fully into the dreams..And usually this will end up with a non lucid dreams as well..

Will keep on trying both of the inducing techniques above for a little longer..any maybe will include the DEILD and WBTB after that..

Any advise/suggestion will be much appreciated :)

I advise you not to worry or think about SP. The things that may accompany a WILD attempt, such as tingling, buzzing, imagery/hallucinations, and other stuff are not even sleep paralysis at all. They are normal bodily sensations that you notice while your body is falling asleep but your mind is awake.

There are many people who don't even notice anything while WILDing, mostly just a little bit of tingling or something. The important thing in WILDing is to focus on the mental aspect and the dream, and not the physical aspect and the sensations (though you can certainly use them to let you know you're almost there).

Based from what I've learn from gab the dream guide..Both of you are sharing the similar advice/idea that SP is not necessary or not the main factor for a successful WILDing..Its a good information for me as to give me a better understanding of the whole WILDing process..Specially the SP part and I think that what I've already experience like the imagery/hallucination are happened during the Hypogogia.

I like your explanation about the focus on the mental aspect and the dreams when attempting the WILDing..It give me a different view of the whole process and how to progress into the right way while WILDing..I'm really glad that I've learn it from you :D

Maybe I can share the experience I had during my first two WILDs.
Because I didn't even know I was doing it the first time untill I wrote it down the next morning.

During my first I was just lying in my bed, visualizing or daydreaming, whatever you want to call it.
But at a certain point I noticed I lost my connection with the real world, I felt I was in my visualization at that moment. I had done a WILD a never even noticed the transition.

My second one was more clear.
Once again I was picturing images in my mind but this time I did notice the shift.
I was imagining walking in a field looking at my surroundings and at one point I started running.
But at that moment I felt how I was loseing my connection to my body, it felt like I was being lifted up or something. It was important that I acknowledged this feeling but at the same time leave it in the back of my head and not pay to much attention to it.
In the end the floating feeling made it's way into my dream and I flew away.

So you see, WILDs can happen very naturally without much chaotic sounds and/or feelings.
The advice to focus on the mental aspects is spot on.

We know dreams are happening inside, so the inside is all that matters. :)

As for now nothing much happened during my journey to become lucid..To be honest I feel a little bit of disappointed but I have to keep on the positive attitude..No pain no gain haha..I can recall at least 3 dreams right now..But I'll try harder next time..Got to work on with my RC as well a combo of cross earring+ring+holding breath..

As for the WILDing..I try to do it usually when I wake up suddenly at the end of my 1st dream..I notice that its hard for me to focus because its easy for me to lost track because of the dreams itself..Honestly its hard to keep the awareness when you're about to enter the dreams..No wonder they says that WILDing is not easy to master..I envy your people :)

Please bear with me a little bit more and I really appreciated any advise or help from your all..I maybe slow but with a lots of push..When I becoming lucid one day..The credit is all yours..Let me share the dreams together..That one day..There is no boundaries between you and me..

To help you keep your awareness when you wake up from one dream and are about to enter another, what do you do normally? What I usually do that's helped me DEILD and WILD, is to stay lying in the same position. Then I incubate a dream in my mind. Either I incubate the dream I just had if I like it, or I pick my favorite fantasy and try to keep from falling asleep too fast. Those are just some tips that work for me, that you're free to try out. :)

Usually after waking up..I stayed with the same position too..Closing my eyes and trying too focus with my awareness..But what makes me hard too focus is because of the dreams that is I think come too fast for me :)..Before I realize I already begin to dreams..I'm not really sure whether I should keep my focus on with the emptiness (awareness) or go along with the dreams..Please help me out with this..

Please help me also on how I can Incubate a dreams when I'm attempting the WILDing..Because before I can think of any fantasy..I already lost in non-lucid dreams :(

Nothing much happened lately..Working normally during the day and try to score the DILD during normal dreams..WILD attempt during nap time..So far what I can really feel is its getting harder and harder for me to focus during WILDing..I have to put on extra work for my awareness as well :)

Just the other night I woke up from a dreams (3rd dreams maybe)..I try to type in key point of my dreams into my phone..I look at the screen and it turns out that I already type in some key point of my 1st dream into the phone..Then I switch on the light but its not working..I turn on the switch several time but there is no light..I think there is something wrong with the light bulb..Because its happened before..Looking up I saw there is a black figure moving..turn out it was a shadow from a ceiling fan..There is a blanket covered on top of my bed and there is a green thing (flower?) moving on the surface of the blanket..I try to pull it hard but seems like it stuck over there..Then I get up and sit on my bed..Its so gloomy and scary..I twist the light bulb but it still not working..I notice that the curtain that covering my bed is half opened..Quickly I close it back..But I have a feeling that there is somebody inside the room..I lay back to my bed..Opened my eyes and when I turn on the light..It was working just like it usually does..Now I'm really waking up..I'm not really sure whether its a normal dreams or false awakening tho..

What really funny is I dream before doing my job in my dreams..myself in that dream think that I'm lucid..But I decided to finish my job 1st because its not really good if I left it half way done..I think that I already lucid..So I can finish it all and go somewhere later on..And at the other night I'm dreaming of explaining to my friend about the lucidity and how to attain lucidity in dreams..But I does it so by not having the awareness of the dreams itself..Dream of lucid without being lucid..

Well I think that its a good start for me..Maybe if I keep on trying harder..I'll be aware that I'm dreaming one night :D
