      lenaatmidnight's (Lena's) workbook

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my workbook.

I started lucid dreaming about a year ago, and I was fortunate enough to be able to conjure a few lucid dreams. Then I went back to school in September, and could not make a conscious effort to dream anymore, being very busy. But now, I hope to refine my skills and come closer to grasping the wonderful thing that is lucid dreaming.

      Reality Checks:
      -Check time then check again
-Switching the lights on and off
      -

      Dream Signs:
      -Tomato plants
      -My mother
      -

      Short-Term Goals:
-Have at least one lucid dream this month
      -Solve my 'dream blindness' issue
      -

      Long-Term Goals:
-Be able to have a few, relatively long lucid dreams a month
-Master the WILD & WBTB technique
      -

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
-I do not believe myself to have very good dream recall. If I do not make effort to remember, I do not remember at all, unless something triggers a memory in the morning. I do try to record my dreams daily in my dream diary, but I find it difficult to stay consistent with it. However, lately I have been making good progress with the number and the extent I remember my dreams a night.

      Current Technique:
-Mostly WBTB, but also DEILD and DILD. I aspire to learn the WILD technique.

      Welce to the class Lena!

You know it's freaky, I dream about tomato plants constantly. With big fat tomatoes on them. I blame the fact that I suck at growing them in real life. Also fighting with my mom is one too haha.

Anyway, glad you have some time to get back into LDing. I'm about to start work, but I just wanted to share two things really quick: one is yes, dream journals really help with recall. So is reading other members journals. Second, there's a pretty informative podcast here that covers the dream blindness thing pretty in depth. Check it out when you get the time: http://www.dreamviews.com/dreamviews...-sleepers.html

      Speak again soon!

Fortunately, dream recall is highly trainable. When I first started trying to LD, I think I remembered maybe one or two dreams a month on average. But with lots and lots of practice, that number came way up to the point where I almost always recall several dreams per night.

You're making the right moves by dream journaling consistently. Set your intent to remember your dreams and when you awake from one, try lying still for a while until you've recalled it in its entirety. Try to move only when the dream has been reviewed and is back in your short-term memory. I find that this makes a big difference.

Good luck and let us know how you do!
