      Post GenFalcons workbook

      Reality Checks:
      -finger through hand
      -Clock/text
      -Breathing through closed nose

      Dream Signs:
      -Hotels
      -Friends/Family
      -Blood

      Short-Term Goals:
-Become Lucid on a weekly basis
      -Meet my Dream Guide
-Experience a decent lenght Lucid dream.

      Long-Term Goals:
-Explore the depths of the dream world
-Find and help other people become Lucid using SD/ MD
-Become Lucid when ever I try to.

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - Ive had two lucid dreams so far but both only lasting only a few seconds. My dream recal is getting stronger everyday.

      Current Technique:
-Most nights i try to sleep for a few hours (5 or so) then wake myself so i can try and induce WILD using MILD. hasnt worked to well yet though.

Dream recall technique i use is in the morning i wake and record an audio of what i remember between dreams or after i fully wake.

      Homework for lesson 1
[X] 1.Start your own workbook thread in this subforum (here). See below for an example template
[X] 2.Start a Dream Journal and record each dream.
[X] 3.Record the times that you naturally go to bed and wake-up, and list it in your workbook.
[X] 4.Do reality checks whenever you experience something weird throughout the day, and list it in your workbook.
[X] 5.Write a list for why you want to lucid dream (for motivation), and plan out what you want to do in your next lucid dream.
[X] 6.Establish a night-time routine (Include reading your dream journal, making sure to leave your DJ open to a blank page for quicker dictations).

      Optional:
      [X] 7.Start a DreamViews Dream Journal (here).
[X] 8.Start posting snippets from your dreams in the Dream Snippets Thread to get feedback on your dreams!
[X] 9.Start practicing awareness from Lesson III
[X] 10.If you notice any recurring elements in your dream journal (aka dream signs), list it in your workbook.

What I want to do in my next Lucid.

In my next Lucid I want to look around and see my dreamworld as clearly as I can. I want to find an object near me and pick it up and study it as much as i can. I want to smell the air feel the object maybe even taste the object. I want to get all my sense involved so that I can being in the moment of that dream. After doing that I will shout on the top of my Lungs Clarity NOW! and see what i saw become even more vivid infront of my eyes. I then want to call out for my Dream guide when i see him I want to ask a few questions, the first one being can I have a gift. After He gives it to me or says no I want to ask him if he/she or it has been present in my previous dreams and if he was where was he. I will then try and stabalize the dream more by making more stimulations with all of my sense. I want to go with my Dream guide and ask him to teach me new things to be my mentor. I will follow his moves and learn from the best. I will ask him how to summon a weapon if he did not already give it to me as gift and ask him If That weapon is him and if he can show me how to master the true forms of it. After all of that I will gladly wake in peace.

Welcome, GenFalcon! It's great to have you here!

Most nights i try to sleep for a few hours (5 or so) then wake myself so i can try and induce WILD using MILD. hasnt worked to well yet though.
This strategy (WBTB or "wake back to bed") is a great approach for achieving lucidity. The vast majority of my lucids have come by way of WBTB. So you are definitely IMO on the right track there.

What sort of trouble do you have? Just fall back asleep without achieving lucidity? Or trouble falling back to sleep? Also, about how long do you stay up during the WBTB?

I would have to say that its falling back asleep and getting truely back to sleep. I vary between waking up and going right back to sleep while just thinking of a phrase. other times I will try the approach of get up and do stuff for 20 minutes to get your mind going and then try and go back to sleep. When i do that I try to MILD and turn it into a WILD but each time i have done that I feel like i cant get back to sleep.

This is a really common struggle. I certainly went through it myself and have to do the right things to make sure I avoid it.

My recommendation is to try something that really calms your mind. Discard any thoughts about whether you'll get back to sleep, what time it is, etc. Try to stay very still and keep your mind quiet.

I like to do a mental backward counting ritual where I start from 100, then 99, 98, slowly counting down in my head. Between each number I insert something like "I'm dreaming". I have no other thoughts and just enjoy the quiet of the very early morning. I find that this crowds out the worry and/or excitement that can make falling to sleep difficult.

Try something like that out and perhaps vary the amount of time you stay up to zero in on your personal best fit for WBTB length. Good luck!

I would like to make note that I had great progress past 2 nights. ive had an addition 4 lucid events now in the past 2 nights ever since i started to try and do ADA. I have just been becoming aware or waking up and being like lets do a RC and presto. My dream control is still really bad however and Im only lasting a few seconds in the dream before it switchs. The last dream I had I became lucid but After only a few seconds I believe it became a nonlucid

Your Homework For Lesson II is:

[X]1.Study up on all of the induction techniques listed here and find one that suits you.
      DILD, WBTB, WILD, MILD
[ ]2.Practice your chosen induction technique for at least 2 weeks (although longer is preferred) before changing it to something else or ruling out that it's not working.
[ ]3.Continue to post all of your experiences, even failed ones, into your workbook.

      Optional:
[ ]4.Discuss your chosen technique with the teachers by posting in your workbook. There are lots of ways to go about each technique, we will be able help you find a method that suits you!
[ ]5.Choose a second (and possibly third) induction technique that compliments your first. For example, if you chose DILD you will also be able to perform WILD.
[ ]6.If possible, it is highly advised to include WBTB into your routine.
Open your mind and fly like a falcon over the seas and into your dreams.
